Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
Sometimes an image is easier to understand than text, but I’ll add a little to the meme anyway.
I’m sometimes asked, “Why do Democrats tend to support Islam even though it treats women as property, rapes them and abuses children?" If you have doubts about the child abuse, consider the following from Gemini: “According to traditional Sahih Hadith sources, Muhammad's favorite wife, Aisha, was betrothed at age six and the marriage was consummated when she was nine years old.”
The short answer is that both Marxism and Islam are totalitarian faiths, each assuming that their ultimate victory is predestined—by Allah in the case of Islam and by “Dialectical Materialism” in the case of Marxism.
Islam is zealously moral in the sense that followers have a strict ethical code stringently enforced when adherents have power. Their stated goal is total world domination by any means, including killing millions. The ends justify the means. In the West, we mistake “moral” for Christian morality. Everyone believes they are moral; their definition just varies widely.
Marxism is godless, but they treat their faith in a dialectically ordered path of “progress” as the transcendent end. Followers see the world as a material machine where randomness begat order. As Obama frequently said, his policies were on the right side of history. In a 2012 UN speech, he said: "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." It's hard to imagine a sneakier way of conveying approval of the Islamic-Marxist alliance. Again, the ends justify the means.
American universities have been Marxist for decades, and the Democratic Party is increasingly open about its socialistic sympathies, and given the necessities of the moment, the party elite is shedding its shyness—hence the campus Islamism after October 7th and the ascent of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
Republicans tend to be reticent about stating such things as I just did. The local party leadership “preferred” that I not post a less blatant version of this that did include the meme on their FB stream. Too controversial!
On the other hand, a posted picture of the local party putting up signs for Republican candidates in Iowa (Zach Lahn for governor and Ashly Hinson for US Senate) drew a lot of nasty comments about how stupid we are: “marking where manure is to be spread,” “lockstep with the orange pedophile.” Democrats are proud to show their hatred, while Republicans are often reticent to state plain, verifiable facts. Donald Trump is the exception and therefore makes Christian Republicans especially uncomfortable (including me). I believe we can be civilly direct without being profane. As Christian apologists might say, if you aren’t offending anyone, perhaps you are not really a Christian.
I’m reminded of Rod Dreher's Live Not by Lies, as well as a famous essay from Solzhenitsyn with the same title from 1974. Conservatives tend to be, well, conservative. This is fine in peacetime, but given the alliance being forged between two ruthless enemies, I worry this disposition will lead us to watch lazily as our society crumbles. A new axis of evil has formed, and if the right does not act soon, we may be lucky enough to whisper to one another while being worked to death in a Gulag, burying our executed or starved friends, and wondering how it all happened.

Both Marxism and Islam seem to assume that humans are incapable of self-control and self-discipline, as every aspect of people's lives must be dictated to them, and strict controls applied so people don't do an improper thing.

The best I can do individually is to continue backing my fundamentally solid daughter in our shared commitment to America's founding values, and to help educate my grandson as he navigates the craziness known as public education. This gives me hope, and I hope others are doing the same.

New? I seem to remember a red-green alliance of this sort back in the 1930's and 1940's. Sure, the red was merely "National Socialist" rather than "International Socialist," but there it was. And unlike the German people, the Islamists did not suffer that much at the end of the war.

I do love the meme, though, and appreciate your willingness to post it and say something about it.
