My own "conspiracy theory" is not a theory about a conspiracy at all, but a major conclusion reached by myself alone about the current "state of the Union under Trump," supported by several minor conclusions about the purpose, effects, and current status of several factions whose influences have been significant in America arriving where we are today.
News these days is dominated by reports about what President Trump has been doing in the three-plus weeks since he took office. One report says that 70% of Americans believe he is fulfilling his campaign promises. His approval rating is the highest it's ever been. I approve of what I've seen thus far.
Present non-support of Trump among the voters is at 30% based on the source quoted and those who are screaming "Constitutional crisis" couch their arguments mostly in terms of Elon Musk's involvement with DOGE.
The non-Republican representation in Congress is 47% in the Senate and closer to 50% in the House, and the opposition is close to unanimously anti-Trump and supportive of the "Constitutional crisis" theme. This tells us that the current Congressional makeup does not match well with the popular view of the people.
Voters and elected leaders fall into several groups that were relatively undisrupted for several decades until Trump won the election for POTUS in 2016. The issues that drive these groups are not the same, and this complicates explaining the changes that have occurred to get us where we are today. The influences that drive these differences have also shifted in prominence or appeared in our society at different times.
One of the difficult groups to explain is often referred to as the Uniparty. This specifically addresses members of both parties who were complacent with America's condition before Trump's victory in 2016. Uniparty Democrats in Congress and followers were either ideologically Leftist or Leftist and benefiting from graft. Uniparty Republicans in Congress and followers talked the language of conservatives but did not walk the walk. The 2016 election shattered both of these elements as defined above and changed public behaviors of the members, some very drastically. Many of the Republicans were anti-Trump and worked against him at all times. And Democrats always work against Republicans, so they were naturally anti-Trump.
As this was Trump's very first elected political office, he began his rookie year as a very unschooled and inexperienced performer. He made many mistakes against an ensconced federal bureaucracy that was accustomed to having things run in ways of its choosing. We know all of what Trump went through in those four years and we know what he went through in the four years of the Biden administration. The leading opposition elements over these eight years were the federal bureaucracy's intelligence components working with the State Department and the Democrat Party, along with some claiming to be Republicans. They were in control of much of the bureaucracy and Trump had only passive support from the established Republican leaders even when they had power.
Over the eight years from 2016, Trump built a strong base of Main Street support—often called populist. Social conservatives liked his court appointments and how he approached the abortion issue. Fiscal conservatives liked tax cuts, even though not much in the way of spending cuts were on the table. Others liked some of his positions on trade, military conflicts, and jobs for Americans. In other words: a partial list to Make America Great Again.
We witnessed eight years of very underhanded behavior by those in powerful and influential positions in attempts to keep Trump from gaining the powerful hand the POTUS is supposed to have. Many traditional non-supporters saw this as well. They also experienced the economic decline, health and medical disarray with the Covid-19 so-called pandemic, the Biden White House, the Ukraine-Russia and Gaza-Israel conflicts, and the disastrous Democrat Party 2024 presidential campaign.
Trump had not been idle during this period. He had learned much and made moves to handle the transition differently when he won the 2024 election. The things he has done differently and the things that were revealed to the voters over the previous eight years shifted much formerly Democrat support over to Trump.
Trump won and has taken action over this initial period that has instilled a panic in the Democrat leadership. When I used the term graft earlier in describing some members of the Uniparty, it maybe goes too far for some who lobby for wars to keep the military equipment business producing, but it still amounts to money-grubbing for the wrong reasons. Democrats are in such disarray that they are shopping for judges for temporary injunctions to stop Trump from exercising his Constitutional authority to uncover waste, fraud, and abuse in spending taxpayers' money. Fiscal conservatives can certainly get behind this.
The most conspiratorial part of my thought process is that I think there are long-standing far Left, Communist-oriented efforts, to change America from a constitutional republic to a socialist nation in which the people turn to government for life guidance. I think the creation of the Department of Education has served to advance this effort, supporting a failure to educate young people and promoting government grants to higher education along with massive numbers of exorbitant loans to poor and middle-income students. Unlimited spending authority for Congress and a change in our banking structure so that it serves the government instead of the people have advanced the decline in the power of the people. Election integrity has been attacked for the same reason.
As the knowledge product has been reduced, sex, ethnic, religious, and racial animosity themes have been increased in the education environment. And there has been increased focus on globalism or one-world government.
I have raised many points here, but they are surely not exhaustive of what has been happening to take America down. I am very pleased to have Trump in the White House with the support of the Congress and the people to Make America Great Again (MAGA). It appears there is some work to be done in our Judicial Branch, but the Democrats are helping. There's a lot more that can be said about my conspiratorial thoughts but I don't want this to be too long and I want to post it while timely.

Great post.
You say: "The most conspiratorial part of my thought process is that I think there are long-standing far Left, Communist-oriented efforts, to change America from a constitutional republic to a socialist nation in which the people turn to government for life guidance. "
I don't disagree that a good deal of the energy expended by Dem leaders at the top of political matters and by their rabid followers at the bottom involves having the nation become a socialist nightmare.
But even as the Dem leaders espouse the idea of a "non-worker's paradise" complete with automatic monthly wages sent to every American, via the much touted guaranteed income scheme, these same leaders have very capitalistically been pocketing a good deal of public largesse. This is part of the reason behind their hue and cry against the Trump/Elon/BigBalz audits - that their embezzlement forays into helping out their bank accounts are becoming public knowledge.
I think it is also quite the embarrassment that the real reason behind how since the Summer of 2016, the traditional media has promoted only one side of any issue has now been revealed. The reality has finally been exposed. The media wasn't idealistic at all in its labeling the ClimateCrisis/carbon neutral forces as being the answer or in their embrace of Joe Biden and then of Kamala being the answer. Rather it was their need to be answering to the monies received for sticking to those harmful agendas.
Some monies for the media came from Soros. So now we discover that Soros himself was handed hundreds of millions of dollars to promote the progressive agenda, dollars from agencies which were supposedly working for the good of Americans and not to promote communism. Also I have no doubt he used some of that funding to fund media.
The government also directly gave monies to the media. How did the media respond? To ensure that they kept receiving those monies, each and every traditional outlet espoused the necessity of more governmental control and always against the conservative viewpoint. Even Fox News was controlled opposition, as they shoved Tucker Carlson off their platform when they realized that he always speaks up to reflect his beliefs, whether those beliefs are right or wrong. The Fox News execs knew government checks would not be forthcoming if they kept a Truth Seeker on their airways.

It is fun, is it not, to think how close they might be to achieving their goals of world domination if Obama had not taunted Trump into running at the White House Correspondents Dinner in September 2011.
Will historians term this a "great man" hinge point in history? Or will the "inevitable currents of history" theorists claim someone else would have been swept up instead?

Oh, gosh. I remember that and I have always thought it was a major motivation to get Trump thinking seriously about entering the race. Then Romney's fail just firmed up Trump's resolve. Being a New Yorker gave him an opportunity during the period before his escalator appearance to gather first-hand what he needed to know about what Clintons and others were up to. He had no idea where that choice would take him. Most of us knew nothing of the dangerous precipice we were on.
Thanks for your comment. This along with what @CarolJoy said in comment #1 is what I was hoping to get as supplements to my points. There are so many things involved.

Thanks, @CarolJoy, for the points you made. That is what I was looking for since the Democrats have given us so much to work with.
