Parents in Washington State have some hard decisions to make

This year at government (public) schools all over Washington State, parents have been presented with conditions that may challenge their beliefs regarding what is or should be taught in the public school system. A new curriculum mandate has taken effect in my state, and parents of students of ANY level, from kindergarten to high school, might be very surprised by what their kids tell them when they arrive home.

It seems that the recently re-elected Superintendent of Public Instruction has handed down a policy regarding sexual education, starting in kindergarten. I have written an extensive post over at my personal blog about this, and the link is below.

Here's a screenshot from an X post on the subject. It serves as the header photo on my post.

Also included in my post is an article about this from the KOMO-Seattle website. They spoke with Seattle parents, who seemingly approve of this. Seeing that, it has changed my view of the Seattle voters who have elected the monsters running our education system, and now I think that they deserve what they and their kids are getting. Seattle schools are hemorrhaging students, and this kind of thing is just the latest straw. Seattle is already suffering from the effects of decades of Democrat rule, and it's only a matter of time until the dystopia takes over completely.

I feel for parents in more conservative Eastern Washington who now have to decide whether sending their kids to public schools is worth the aggravation, or whether they should send them to private schools or homeschool. I pray that they immediately remove their children from the malign influence of the education pedophiles in Olympia.

The parents may. The kids don't.

I’d like to see this post elevated to the Main Feed for several reasons:

    1. The subject (LGBT+ propaganda being mandated in public schools) has relevance throughout the United States, not just is Washington. It merits a broader discussion.

    2. What are parents to do? Those that are supportive of such propaganda are free to do such harm to their own children, but what of the parents who don’t want this filth? The State is counting on such parents’ quiet submission and willingness to wear the chains of slavery.

    3. What are the teachers in such schools supposed to do? The teach lies, or speak and act out against such state-sponsored abuse against children?

My son is a middle school teacher near Seattle. He and my daughter-in-law are considering whether or not he should stay in teaching. They have to make decision regarding my 18-month old grandson. So this topic hits pretty close to home for me.

I agree - the more public notice and discussion the better. Non-conforming parents have to be encouraged.
I think this issue is as important as the sexual mutilation of children. It is very personal to us: our daughter-in-law homeschools our grandchildren and I will keep paying for any and all tuition costs to make sure there is no financial barrier that puts their children in NC schools. If any of them need tutoring or enriched activities we will fund that too. We are lucky and grateful that we can do it.
I am sad for your family: your son faces an unconscionable decision concerning his career. If he stops teaching his students will lose a valuable resource and he will have to find another way to be a teacher. If he stays he knows he will be complicit in insupportable activity or promptly attacked as insubordinate and fired with prejudice. He wants to protect his child.
Parents do have the choice to remove their children but for most families that choice is very difficult to execute. It involves significant change and costs real time and real money. On the plus side: for our family homeschooling has enabled intensive involvement with wrestling and dance (the girls do both…) which a structured school schedule would not. The kids in their wrestling clinics also homeschool for the same reason.
WA is not unique nor an outlier, even if the most extreme - NJ is considering the same as we speak, VA has town by town malignancy and every state has the underlying symptoms if not the overt policy. Non-conforming parents must be encouraged to challenge the administrations. Every school system which has deployed a so-called Multi-Tiered System of Support has adopted the principle of sexualizing children and displacing educational content with a focus on emotion and socially influencing children. Every curriculum has been revised to incorporate racist and sexist content throughout. And the cost to implement this stuff is extortionate.
Non-conforming parents must be encouraged to challenge the administrations.

NB: you might ask how I really feel: school administrators are dopes running a criminal enterprise.

I third option would be to move to another state.

A significant number of teachers in local public schools (not just Seattle) are pink-haired, tattooed, nose-ring wearing woke Leftists. The last year has seen multiple teachers removed and prosecuted for sex crimes against children. The new law SB5599 gives schools enormous power to socially transition children with no notification or parental consent.
