Hello from Utah!

I just wanted to say hello to all of you! It's been a long time. I have been writing a Substack newsletter called Sunshine in My Soul for three years. I'd like to thank Ricochet for helping me get over my writing fears. There, I try to write and share interesting and uplifting stories, music, art, etc.

My daughter, Rachel, got married in August of 2025. Baby Elizabeth came on June 3, 2026. We are grandparents and love it! She is a wonderful mother. Her husband, Patrick, drives a shuttle for the Missionary Training Center on BYU campus. He's taking a semester off from his studies to earn more and adjust to marriage and a new baby. He's a fun dad. We're so grateful that Rachel married him.

My son, Jacob, does a variety of things, including programming, detailing cars, sharpening knives, scissors, garden tools, and carpet cleaning. He is preparing to go on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints within the next year.

Mark is working at the Utah State Mental Hospital. He does maintenance and works hard. We've been married 29 years. We also just got our mortgage paid off. I envision a vacation in the near future!

Our bunnies died. We have a German Shorthair Pointer named Luna. She is a Velcro dog, and we love her! Patrick's brothers and sisters call her the "fairy dog mother." It's an accurate description. Luna knows when the baby needs cleaning up. She can't stand a dirty baby.

I am still an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If anything, my faith is stronger than ever. Anyway, that's a summary of our lives over the last few years. My kids have one living set of grandparents. Mark's oldest brother died unexpectedly in September. We are still working through that.
