Has this been done before on Ricochet? Not by me! Here are mine, with handles unnaturally turned to facilitate the photography. Now they're back to their usual orientation. Of course, at breakfast time I know which one is which!
The one on the far right is my weekday one. I cannot explain that particular feature of it, which is really a feature of me. At whatever its usage rate, I have had it a long time and like having its science-y reminder of such academic work as I ever did. I do sometimes consult its periodic table. When I say I do “research” for a post, this is what it may be. Always good to maintain awareness of where technetium and neon and antimony and gadolinium and thallium are.
The next one, with the flowers, is from the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin. My lady uses that when she’s here. Although I think one morning it was for some reason still in the dishwasher, and I served her my Mark Steyn one (not shown), and that was fine.
The Mary Worth one was a gift from me to Mom, and I reclaimed it after her death. With the approval of my sister, whom I had also gifted at the same time. Our mother always liked looking at the comic strip, I mean in her local paper, although she was the first to admit that funnies are seldom funny. She marveled at Mary Worth, not just for the lady’s benign personal do-gooding, but for the almost but not quite total lack of narrative progress. Things did happen, problems got resolved, but man did they take a long time. My academic field wasn't geology, or astronomy, or mycology with a specialization in slime molds, or musicology with a specialization in Debussy or Philip Glass, but if I were giving a seminar on ultralong or ultraslow processes, you would find conspicuously on the lectern my Mary Worth mug.
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology mug is my weekend one. Again, I cannot state why. I deserve more coffee on Saturdays and Sundays? I bought it at that very lab, which my lady and I were visiting – she lives close to it! I have to admit it took me a ridiculously long time to figure out what that emblematic bird is. It is, of course, a sapsucker. Which I should’ve known because the lab is on Sapsucker Woods Road in Ithaca, New York. There, you started reading about mugs, and got a stupid Ivy-Leaguer bonus!

Alas, my mug collection is far away at the moment or I would post a picture of my favorites. Given that most are gifts, cats and horses are the main themes as if you are known to have a pet, there is no shortage of gift mugs available. Unfortunately, they get used as I prefer iced coffee in the morning iced and every other time of the day, and the only time I get a hankering for a hot beverage is when I am sick.

The one on the right and the ones on the left are self-explanatory. Since we moved back to Georgia, I got Georgia mugs, but they are not nearly as attractive as the Florida ones.

Andrew is a lucky guy! (And Florida's loss is Georgia's gain!)
Meanwhile, I am surprised at the low response to this post. At least I'm not quitting Ricochet in a huff!

A representative sample. From left to right: a Christmas present from a coworker with a Charlotte word cloud; Dinosaurland; The Biltmore; the Unicorn Tapestries from the Met; and the Rosetta Stone from the British Museum.
