Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
“Ooh, awesome!”
Yes, we are at that terminal stage. Lenin predicted that free market societies would succumb to “moribund capitalism”—his term for “imperialism”. But, actually, instead we have descended to the election stage of “Ooh, Awesome!” running against “Ooh, Icky!”
The first modern example of this was the young, dynamic, good-looking energetic John F. Kennedy running against dark and evil Nixon. Camelot won, and we were all rewarded with the Bay of Pigs, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the revolutionary bomb-throwing movements that began in earnest in 1968.
Then we got the implementation of the “Bad Boy Syndrome,” Clinton retired old boring GHW Bush with eight years of fluff, fortunately at a time when the deleterious consequences of running the country like a testosterone-fueled frat house were survivable because Putin and Xi were not yet on the scene. Saxophones on late-night TV comprised the substance of that bunch.
Next was the too-cool Obama with his lack of ethnic-sounding “dialect” (to quote Democratic Senate leader Harry Reid). We got ObamaCare and Rashid Khalidi’s foreign policy with nuclear Iran running the Middle East. All it cost us were a few pallets of cash to subsidize their anti-American proxy warriors.
And now, for the newest fluff innovation, we get “joy,” plus recipes! Unfortunately, none of us except for "The Brat" are allowed to use gas stoves.
After all, Donald Trump really is icky. Is anyone else eager to see Kameleon explaining to Putin about really big countries invading little countries?
We have now described with that one short phrase- “The Valley Girl Election”- the degree of serious thought driving at least half of the country. We have also described the maximum level of critical analysis applied to the 2024 Democratic presidential ticket by “The Media.” But this is not strictly their intellectual shortcoming—after all, they merely reflect the target electorate and the Party marching orders they have been given.
Onward!

I dunno, I don't think Kamala is even qualified to be a Valley Girl.
