Pipe Bomber Arrest!

The FBI has arrested a Northern Virginia man as the J6-eve pipe bomber. Brian Cole is reportedly the name of the man in custody.

Odd that after years of alleged investigation, the FBI solved the case only one month after a well-publicized but apparently incorrect story (my previous post on the Blaze story) brought the issue back into public focus. Odd that the Capitol cop named in the Blaze story waited almost a month to issue a denial. Odd that some idiot senior FBI agent actually threatened the staff of Rep. Massie to stop looking into such things. Really odd that there was no new evidence or testimony, but that a revised, fresh look at the case was enough to crack it years later.

FBI Deputy Director Bongino had commented in the past that it was as if the Bureau did not want to solve this case even though this behavior was vastly more serious than that of grandmothers “parading” in the Capitol on J6. (Former head of the pipe bomb investigation, Special Agent-in-Charge Jack Clouseau, was likely unavailable for comment. Okay, I made that part up.)

Solving the mystery of this sustained FBI "failure" is probably more significant than finally knowing who the particular idiot was that did it.

This post was promoted to the Main Feed at the recommendation of Ricochet's members.

I have low confidence that this is really the guy, and even lower confidence that if it is the guy, that he will be convicted in a DC court.

It is true that there will need to be preliminary rulings as to whether the prosecution of the case helps or hurts Donald Trump, likely tossed if the former.

It would be truly stunning if the Bureau screwed the pooch with this arrest and got the wrong guy.

If this guy is a hard core UberMAGA/Proud Boys/militia patriot type, wouldn't he have been nailed by the feds within days? Is there something about him that would complicate the desired insurrection narrative? Or are they really that incompetent.

Certainly agree with you regarding conviction in a DC court unless the guy turns out to be MAGA/Republican which seems unlikely since, if that was the case, the Biden DOJ/FBI would've long ago charged him.

Since he lived with his parents, it is important to add the Jr. to his name (Brian Cole, Jr).

And low confidence this guy acted alone. There is a lot of explaining I need to hear.
