Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
It’s “The Best of Saturday Night Radio” … or is it? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tonight, it's "Mr. District Attorney" and the story of "The Vanishing Runner" .... Maybe we could do a modern-day reboot. I know! Let's put a chick in it and make her gay! How about this? "Mx. District Attorney" and the story of "The Innocent Female College Student in Georgia Who Went Out For a Solo Jog and Was Brutally Murdered by An Illegal Alien, er, Undocumented Pyrsyn Who Had No Business Being Here in the First Place and Whose Death We Desperately Hope the Public Forgets Before November" ...

Did Mr. District Attorney just slug a blind man?

I'm sure he was a fake and, probably, robbing widows and orphans blind (you should pardon the expression).

I listen to Mr. District Attorney regularly on the SiriusXM Channel 148 and love the opening where he swears to uphold the law and serve all the citizens fairly. What a concept? I will say first the secretary has the hots for him but he is clueless and secondly she does most of the work. Now if I were better able to manipulate the Internet and Ricochet I would feature an episode of Mary (can't remember her last name right now), Editor's Daughter. It's a soap opera set at a small town newspaper in which, of course, everyone makes terrible decisions and the men all talk about how impossible it is to figure out how women think. I'm surprised J. Liliks hasn't been all over this one.

William Talman, the actor who played Los Angeles D.A. Hamilton Burger on Perry Mason, was arrested at a friend's home during a skinny-dipping pool party that had a strong suspicious odor of pot. CBS suspended him from the show in March 1960--he was off the opening credits for 10 months--but the case didn't seem to catch fire publicly, and Raymond Burr persuaded the network to bring Talman back.
In today's age, where clever clip use and dialog substitution are not only possible, but all over the place, I'm still waiting for the internet to bring us the unknown episode--
The Case of the Delinquent D.A.
Gruff, elderly police detective Arthur Tragg pays a visit to Mason's office.
"Counselor, I'm here on a very delicate errand. You see, Hamilton Burger is in jail. He was at a party, and a number of young ladies divested themselves of their clothing. I'm afraid that marijuana may have been involved. He's asked me to get him the best lawyer in town. Naturally, I knew who he meant."
