On this beautiful Pittsburgh morning, thousands made their way to Acrisure Stadium for football Sunday. Most sporting Steelers jerseys, a few in Colts blue. Many had smiles of hope and anticipation. The rest of dope and intoxication.

As I made my way home from Sunday Mass downtown, I heard the 1 o'clock kickoff roar rush over the Allegheny River in my direction. And in the midst of that roar, a giggle.

The giggle of a young boy playing with his new puppy beneath the autumn leaves over Point State Park.

I doubt anyone is having a better day.

Happy Sunday, my friends.

Mr. Charlotte and I were in the 'Burgh last Sunday for the Packers-Steelers game (rooting for the away team, natch). We made a long weekend out of it, hitting the Rivers of Steel blast furnace tour, the Pitt campus/Cathedral of Learning, Isaly's, the original Primanti Brothers, Point State Park, both Inclines, and then the game. Had a terrific time and found Pittsburghers in general and Stiller fans in particular to be uniformly friendly, good-natured, and sporting.

All that was missing was the puppy!

You probably walked past my house. Would it have killed you to say hello!?
