I mentioned a few weeks back (about four Republican betrayals ago) that the state of Minnesota was looking to update the design of their state flag with something hip and modern, that all the young people would think was fresh, rad, and lit, know-what-I'm-sayin'. Anyway, the committee picked this one.
Really says "Minnesota" doesn't it? A white stripe at the top representing... um, snow, I guess. A green stripe in the middle representing environmental socialism. And a blue stripe at the bottom representing the haircolor of the deranged left-wing women who run the state. And on the left, a dark blue K-shaped thing representing ... I don't, Garrison Keillor maybe? And finally an eight-pointed star representing the pagan goddess Ishtar, for some reason.
Below is the flag of the Somalian province of Jubaland.
Update. And below is the flag of the Somalian province of Puntland.

Wow! Whoever came up with it didn't look far - they almost copied it verbatim as you show !! Wow again! That is bizarre and no, does not show any representation of Minnesota..........was this actually approved?? What made up the selection committee? Your description of the colors is hilarious!

It's really not too bad. They could have chosen much worse.

Yes, I was going to ask what does it even mean. But I guess you answered that. Funny, you'd think the sky blue would be at the top, then snow below it, and greenery at the bottom. And I thought that the 8-pointed star was islamic. And what's with the darkness eating up the land like Pac-Man.
Of course, I don't mean to be unamerican but to my taste the Union Jack may be the most beautiful flag in the world, and it has a history in it's design.

California may be a third world hoyo-de-mierda but the flag is great. Every flag is immediately improved 100% by the addition of a bear. 40% by the addition of a constellation. Missouri's flag has two bears, so... crushing it. There's a place in Poland whose flag is some kind of princess on a bear signaling that she's open for a pass of the basketball. That's kinda neat.
South Korea has maybe my favorite flag. The Isle of Man has that crazy-ash thing with three legs on it. Greenland's flag is a masterpiece of elegance and simplicity that looks way cool and distinctive (but no bears, unfortunately).
Seychelles has a very pretty flag. Uruguay's flag is nice.
Albania's flag is cool just because it has Hydra on it, but would be way cooler if Hydra were fighting Godzilla.
