No conservative judges until 2031 or later. The Senate is now +4 Dem. In 2028, the GOP defends 19 seats; the Dems 15. It would take a tsunami to even get to 50. The GOP defends only 14 of the 33 in 2030.

The Path to Citizenship will soon consist of the few minutes it takes to authorize a canvasser to fill out voter registration forms for the new citizen voter.

Jewish voters — the sort who still believe that declaring oneself a liberal prevents muggings by minority felons — will discover in short order that this election will convince antisemites that they have full license.

African-Americans don’t realize they are the ones being replaced. The Great Replacement was always cast as white Americans losing ground to brown and black immigrants, but it is black neighborhoods that will be transformed and displaced, not upscale suburbs, and whatever entry-level jobs that still existed for black youths will disappear. They will still vote Democratic just as their Judas goat leadership tells them to.

The filibuster is over. Democrats know that they have the Senate for at least two more election cycles. Taking steps to protect dubious election procedures, gutting ICE to allow for more "new voters," rebuilding what Trump/DOGE tore down, and otherwise working to prevent the GOP from ever coming back will be deemed worth the seemingly small risk of future payback.

A reprieve for Climate Fantasists. The rich white people who own the Democratic Party (although Qatar and China might dispute that claim) will see continued official endorsement of a cherished myth.

Energy Crises on the Way? The sustained attack on fossil fuels with no realistic replacement energy source is driving household bills and prices ever upward. Presumably, data centers, Elon Musk, Exxon, and other villains will be trotted out in the short term to deflect blame. Can Democrats really continue to ban drilling, refineries, and adequate power sources without an eventual backlash?

The Trump Repudiation Narrative will foster the RINO illusion that the country wants them back. That will be a tiresome distraction within the GOP for a while. Trump did make two huge political errors: Tariff policies that did not properly weigh domestic losses and the desultory on-and-off pace of the Iran war that ultimately contributed to fuel prices going back to Biden levels.

Trump accomplished many conservative goals that were thought impossible, such as closing the border, rolling back illegals, and defunding by chunks of the left establishment are among the highlights. People voted for Trump because he was the anti-establishment guy, a thumb in the eye of the uniparty, but this election was about economic perceptions, and Trump was the status quo whether he liked it or not. The hard left successfully rode the coattails of the eternal trend in mid-term elections.

The barista proletariat really is that dumb. If Democrats overreach, overtax, and hurt the economy, the marginally employed former NGO website editors will not care so long as there is a perception that the rich are getting hurt. The rich cause whatever problems there are, and Democrats propose reducing/eliminating tuition debt and invent other benefits. Reagan-esque rhetoric about opportunity, growth, and freedom will have no purchase on those minds.

The veto is the last final barrier. Assuming Trump avoids getting suckered into believing that bipartisanship is the key to a great legacy, a lot of damage will be averted (delayed?). But if the Democrats are clever, they will pass outrageously impractical measures such as Medicare for all, nationalization of anything owned by Elon Musk, a billionaire tax, elimination of student loan debt, and then, post-veto, say See what Trump took away from you to shape the issue for 2028 and mobilize the lemmings.

What Next? If the Democratic nominee in 2028 proposes NATO membership for Hamas, jailing doctors who try to practice outside of employment in Medicare For All, and wide-open borders, would that shock the country into voting GOP, or will the next two years complete the cognitive decay and toxic paralysis?

Will the Democratic Congress liberate the GOP to be the anti-incumbent party in 2028? I recall reading a cover story in Newsweek after the 1968 elections about the chances of the GOP going out of existence like the Whigs. The Whigs were the Never-Jackson party and wimped out on the issue of slavery. This GOP has an easier path to issue clarity if they want it.

Should Thomas and Alito retire right now so they can be replaced before Jan?

Don’t underestimate the advantages of a gridlocked Federal Government. There will be no compromises in the next two years, just lots of vetoes. Somehow, a continuing spending resolution must get passed, but I don’t see how. Judicial vacancies must get filled, but I don’t see how. Otherwise, gridlock with Republicans controlling the executive branch is not the end of the world.

Works for me. The Federalist Society won't be asked for nominee recommendations for 5-7 years so now might be salutary.

The RINOs screwed us. Quit blaming Trump. I checked the numbers in SC. I looked at total votes for Governor and total votes for Graham in the senate race. If everyone voted for the Republican who won the governor’s race had voted for Graham she would have won easily. Andrews did not have enough Democrat votes to win. The governor’s race wasn’t close. A large enough group of RINO TDSers crossed over to spite Trump and MAGA supporters. Some telegraphed their intention to do so before the election. Their justification? Trump picked a bad candidate. The truth? Andrews lost her bid for the House and and for Governor then jumped into the Senate race when L Graham died. She had come out in the past for gun control and “gender affirming care” for children. She lied about that in the campaign.

Republican voters were suckered by the Democrat propaganda, that is how the Marxists do it, define the enemy, attack him, destroy him. Weak candidates? BS. Look at the crazies and idiots the Democrats voted for all across the country Their voters voted to win. Ours voted to spite the rest of us.

The country is toast. Yes, there is a pendulum that swings back and forth but it never returns to the right where it was before. It resets to the left a little each swing. We have now learned the Republicans can’t fix what the Democrats break. I will be changing my voter registration to Independent.

I spit out my cyanide pill prior to reading this just in case. A sobering summary.

There's gotta be a coming impeachment and coming for scalps too from the newly recharged and radical Dem party. I expect to see lots of investigations and more than grandstanding.

Targeting Elon is something of a throwback to bringing out a victim to placate and please the mob. As if destroying him would bring any tangible improvements to their lives. Just a base level, animal sense of vengeance. But targeting individuals for public battery seems like it's a tried and true method for mob spectacles.

I offered much more curtailed observations in a separate post, but yours are much more forward looking.
