Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
I think RFK and MAHA are largely misguided and silly. I believe in technological solutions in a world that is naturally hostile to long and easy human existence. I believe that (most) vaccines, for example, are net positives. So are GMOs and processed foods.
Nevertheless, I am deriving incredible pleasure from watching liberals realize that government wields capricious force and is not wiser or better than anyone else. I love watching them now say that the FDA or the CDC are no longer unimpeachable sources of knowledge, and I like that they now criticize ICE and other state and federal law enforcement.
Welcome to the party, folks.

The civil liberties that you allow the government to abrogate when “the right people are in power” will be visited back upon you when your betters decide your rights are in their way.
Every. right.
Every. time.

Trump has also turned conservatives into socialists. Now the government owning shares in large corporations is a good idea. Nothing wrong with executive orders to cap the interest rates credit cards can charge. Intimidating the federal reserve thru lawfare to get the interest rates they want. Tariffs are now a great way to raise more revenue. The deep state is no longer evil as long as they're the ones using it for their own means. Openly taking bribes for government favors and contracts is now accepted. Exploding the military budget. A whole lotta big gubment goins on. Trump truly is amazing.

You mean, "Welcome to the party, Pal!"
This fulfills the obligatory Die Hard reference requirement . . .

Not entirely wrong...
I agree with you that both of these are bad ideas.
Meh. Fed should not be independent of the executive.
I view Trump's socialist tendencies as impermanent and superficial. Unlike, say, Somali or other Entitlement frauds, the scale is small and limited. And - bonus! - it is really in the open, shameless. Which makes it easier to deal with later.
Military budget is - and has been - a huge mess forever. The latest moves, to entirely bypass and undermine the standard bureaucracy, are essential if we want to survive an armed conflict with China.

Thanks for being the one to say it. Trump is dragging the Republican Party to the left on economic issues, and very few Republicans in Congress are willing to object.
