There has been recent discussion about the Brandon administration spending billions on EV charging stations and not getting a single one operating.
Here's a local example. In November 2021, our city announced that it had acquired two EV charging stations and was going to install one at city hall and one at the museum/park. Somehow this would make our city more progressive and modern, or something. Those two EV chargers are still sitting in their packaging. My guess is that they failed to check how much it would cost to build new electrical lines to power the chargers.
What a waste of taxpayer dollars. And our utility rates have gone up twice in the last year.
The only EV charging station in town is operated by a private company, the Ford dealership.

BTW, 3 of the 5 comments on the city's Facebook post were complaints from residents that the residents, not the drivers, would pay for the electricity. People here aren't as dumb as they look.
One comment was from our mayor who expressed his excitement that this was a big step forward in electrifying our town. No, Mr. Mayor, it's a step toward our residents subsidizing wealthy EV owners.

Kansas would seem to be a good state in which to put your thumb on the scales to demonstrate the futility of EVs.

Lots of wasted human capital and resources over time. Add to that the incompetence of government at all levels...No wonder the national debt continues to rise with nothing to show for it.

When this garbage collapses, we can use what’s left to electrify some politicians.
I keep expecting this to collapse and yet it does not
