Hoping for Trump to Win and Not Voting For Him Is Letting Other People do the Dirty Work

The choice before the nation is Trump or Biden. Oh, Biden might get replaced, but whoever it would be, he or she would keep on in the same vein as Biden. The Democrats are wholly owned by the far-left progressives.

One might claim to want them both to lose, but alas, that is not an option. Republican or Democrat will win. And if it is the Grand Old Party, that Republican will be Donald J. Trump. Period. There is no way around it.

Now, if one does not want Biden (or whomever) to win, then by default, one wants Trump to win. Oh, one might protest and say "I don't want either to win" but that is just being childish. We know one or the other will win. I'd like to have $10 billion too. An adult does not act on fantasy. No, if one wants Biden to lose, one wants Trump to win because that is the outcome of Biden losing. It is like chemo. I don't want to undergo chemo. I also don't want to die of cancer. Therefore, I want to undergo chemo because it is the only option.

What has crystalized for me in the past few days is that there are people who want Trump to win, but they won't aid that outcome. They won't support Trump, even though he is the nominee (something I imagine most of those people would have pilloried Trump for). They won't send money. They won't advocate for others to vote for him. Heck, they won't vote for him. There can be all sorts of excuses. None of those matter at all. The fact of the matter is, these people are happy to let others support Trump, others spend their money and cast their votes for Trump.

This is contemptible to me. Wanting Trump to win but being unwilling to support him is like wanting the Union to win the Civil War but paying for someone else to go fight in your place. Even worse, actually, because at least in the Civil War, money was spent. Maybe it is more like wanting your nation to win a war, but dodging the draft.

The time to complain about Trump is past. He is who the nominee is going to be. If someone wants him to win, then sitting on his or her hands is despicable. At least vote for the man. Show some support. Anything less is hoping to get what you want while others do the dirty, nasty business of supporting a man you find so abhorrent you cannot bring yourself to vote for him. Even if that means Biden might win.

People should not ask others to do their dirty work for them. It is immoral.

I sent him a thousand, the first time I have ever donated to a candidate. I did it exactly for all the reasons you said.

He will obviously win. Unless they cheat. Which they will obviously do.

So I don’t know. They are capable of so much more mendacity than we expect, even when we expect a lot.

Remember in The Untouchables toward the end when all of a sudden the judge agrees to switch the jurys? Kevin had gone to him and told him that his name was on the list too, and if he didn’t play this trial fair it would all be coming out. It was a lie, but it worked, and everybody was surprised, because they thought that they had the whole situation wired.

We need something like this to happen at the last minute, catch them red handed at something in real time, something they can’t squirm out of. But I have no idea what it would be.

If Trump spends my thousand on tiny camera to be hidden in the vote counting rooms, and little microphones planted at the counting tables, I will be very pleased.

I remember making that argument to Mr. Alias here once. He cried like a little girl. "It's MY VOTE, Barfly!" he wheezed.

Any person who's too good to vote for an imperfect candidate is a poor excuse for a citizen.

It is a worthless sort of moral preening, unless it is a vindictive reaction to our choice.

I'll be voting for Trump, but the GOPe is doing nothing about the vote fraud. They would be just as happy if Trump lost, by fair means or foul. Their own seats are not in jeopardy in safe Red states. I think we are going to see vote fraud that we can't even imagine.
