Bill Gates has a blog post today on Climate Change.
In it he starts the pivot away from "CO2 will kill us all!" to a more subdued "Let's consider the well-being of people." Bill Gates is very influential, and I expect this thinking to spread as he is giving people permission to think outside of what the hard-core left demands. He has moved the Overton Window on Global Warming. I hope this and the wonderful things that Lee Zeldin is doing at the EPA will precipitate the end of the long-running climate grift.
Gates says:
* Climate change is serious, but we’ve made great progress. We need to keep backing the breakthroughs that will help the world reach zero emissions.
* But we can’t cut funding for health and development—programs that help people stay resilient in the face of climate change—to do it.
* It’s time to put human welfare at the center of our climate strategies, which includes reducing the Green Premium to zero and improving agriculture and health in poor countries.
Gates further says, "It [CO2 emissions] will not lead to humanity’s demise. People will be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future."
This is a big pivot leading into COP30 (a UN climate change conference). He says that the money spent on fighting CO2 in the atmosphere is not the correct allocation. He has called on the conference to "refocus on the metric that should count even more than emissions and temperature change: improving lives."

There’s a bigger upside to AI (despite the “damage to the environment) than there is now to “The Climate.” The man knows how to get in on the money launder.

What is frightening is that people look to Bill Gates and his ilk for advice.

Thanks, Bill. After all these years, I can breathe again! A few decades ago, I had a fairly long written exchange with my Congressman, the execrable Emanuel Cleaver. Some would say, The Reverand Emanuel Cleaver, but I know nothing about his spiritual life, only his too-long-lasting political one. The discussion was about global warming and CO2. I asked him this question: If man is created in the image of God, then why did God imbue in his human creation the absolute necessity to exhale into the atmosphere the poisonous substance called Carbon Dioxide with every breath? If CO2 is so destructive, the human race should first kill every other living mammal, and then commit mass suicide/genocide on ourselves. Reverand, Representative Cleaver, how does that correspond with your sermon this Sunday?
I received no answer.

I am so delighted to know that one of the most prosperous men in human history is giving permission for the rest of us to consider human prosperity.

Quick! Someone call Greta Thunberg (and explain that no-one "stole" her childhood), AOC, and the heads of most European nations!
