Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
I have great respect for Hugh Hewitt. His book If It’s Not Close, They Can't Cheat led me to volunteer to work polls in Virginia, an activity my daughter joined me in as soon as she was old enough, and culminated in my being in charge of my precinct in the Obama/Romney election. I enjoy his radio shows, because he has guests from all across the political spectrum. He is unfailingly polite to all, agree or disagree. He is smart, prepared, honest and listenable. Well produced by Duane, too.
So reading about this event, where he walks off a Washington Post broadcast in disgust, felt like hearing about the Pope dope-slapping someone. This is the last guy you would expect to snap. But brother, he did it, and he did it right, resigning completely from any association with the Post.
Hugh Hewitt Was Right to Walk Out on Capehart and Marcus.

I saw it this morning. I wish more prominent conservatives would do the same when it becomes clear that it's just a setup for a gotcha ambush.

Thank you, Doug. I'm proud of Hugh's behavior, and I'm so glad he protested as he did. As @Casey73 says, more Conservatives should refuse to participate in this garbage.

I saw Hugh's walkout in the "Funny Political Memes" group, and was amazed. To be so horrible that you drive Hugh off set takes a special kind of horrible. He will interact with anyone. So that walk-off says a lot (all bad) about the state of the Washington Post.

I'm sure Hewitt is disappointed in himself for losing his cool but his anger was justified. It's reported that he has also resigned from the WP entirely. He had been writing occasional columns for them.
CNN website is reporting the story fairly.

NY times reporting is not so fair as they claim
When its clear to me at least that Hewitt objected to the dishonest use of the facts to support that claim/narrative as well as Capehart's retort.
