When Covid broke out, I was a big skeptic, posting a lot on the topic. All the arguments we are all now thoroughly sick and tired of were made on both sides. I even placed a wager with a prominent doctor on this site, betting that Covid would turn out to be nothing worse "than a bad flu."
After the first year, I conceded that the numbers were worse than a bad flu. He took a victory lap. But now we have more data, and this post is to set the record straight: Fauci's diary has made it crystal clear that it was a huge hoax. Fauci's own notes conceded that Covid might be 0.2% to 0.3% fatality — truly just a bad flu. And the vaccines may well have been worse than the virus — we now know that Fauci himself got a myocardial infarction after taking the vaccine.
Covid should go down in history as the event that broke the public's faith in scientists, doctors and "the experts." I hope it does.

But I have always been an optimist, and I remain painfully aware that most people instinctively are driven by their fears and antipathy to risk, rather than a balance of risk against reward. "Experts" play on this weakness, to our detriment.

Although I am sympathetic to your overall take on the Covid situation, the US appears (from a superficial Google search) to have recorded about 500k excess deaths in 2020 and about a million excess deaths in 2021. I believe that approximately 75% of the excess deaths are directly attributed to Covid 19 and the remaining 25% attributed to things like people not getting treatment for things they should have because of lockdowns etc. As a baseline, the US has approximately 3 million deaths per year, so an increase of 500k appears pretty substantial and to be more than a bad flu.

The thing about Covid deaths is cause of death was assigned as Covid if the dead person tested positive for Covid 19, regardless of the actual cause. A bum who froze to death sleeping outside in a bad winter storm was counted as a Covid death. A motorcyclist suffering gross traumatic injuries from an automotive accident was counted as a Covid death. Both tested positive for Covid. Additionally, I suspect those who died from adverse reactions to Covid vaccines were treated as Covid deaths. (How many died from adverse reactions? We will never know because that was deliberately buried.

You’re making the now obvious and confirmed point. Some decline to accept it.

Hmmm ... so what did over 1MM Americans perish from. Please don't tell me "vaccines" because the data on that is clear and abundant ... the most vaccinated countries and states had the lowest excess deaths. So what killed over 1MM Americans?
