The last major hit by The Hollies, The Air That I Breathe, was released in 1974, after which they faded from the charts. However, that song was actually a cover. Written by Albert Hammond (whose notable solo hit was It Never Rains in Southern California) and Mike Hazlewood, it was first recorded by Hammond in 1972. In 1973 it was recorded again by a now-solo Everly Brother, Phil Everly, whose version I’m presenting here.

I love 70's music.

One of the most romantic songs ever written.
Phil does it good but I have to say I prefer the Hollies - it's already emblazoned onto my brain.

Yeah, I like that version, too.

I was going to say exactly that!
I'd include Never My Love and Everything That Touches You by The Association on that list.

The Hollies had some great pop/rock bangers too. Bus Stop, Look Through Any Window, Long Cool Woman, etc. Really good.
