Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
The Democrat/media machine is an amazing thing to watch, as we all know. They can cover up a scandal for years and then release the info all at once when they need to.
When it comes to fraud, theft, sleeping with a Chinese spy or covering for a senile president, the cover-up seems doable because the people involved are political and can be controlled by the machine.
But what about non-political people? Lonna Drewes is a small-business owner who alleges Congressman Swalwell raped her in July of 2018. How did they get her to stay silent for almost 8 years and then talk when the machine needed her?
I can't think of an answer that isn't downright chilling.

After every scandal/tragedy/downright-negative event comes "It was an open secret/authorities were aware."

Happens every time. In the case of a non-elected victim, like Lonna Drewes, What kind of coercion did they use to keep her silent, and then at the right time, say "Ok. talk"?

Like maybe she was threatened. Or the media coordinated to suppress her story.
We have two political parties in this country. One is power-crazed communists and the other wants to avoid being noticed.
This Swalwell thing has me more convinced that Epstein was not running a rape ring and it really is a Democrat hoax. It is Q-Anon from the Left and the Right.

Deep Media and Deep State are Far Left, and basically control information and government. They exert control over everything and everyone when it suits them. Remember, they liberally dispense death threats against anyone who crosses them, and they have no compunction about engaging in illegal activities, up to and including blackmail and murder if it's important enough to them. There are two Republican candidates for governor of California, and as of today they are running first and second in the "top two" primary. The Democrats can't allow that, so they weed out unacceptable Dems so as not to split the vote too many ways. Swalwell was convenient to eliminate, so they did.

This being an "open secret" and all makes getting rid of him once he becomes inconvenient rather simple, doesn't it?
If he'd had half a brain, he would have been collecting this kind of dirt on other members out of self-preservation. But he was selected for his compliance, not his cognitive capacity.
Keeping the women quiet? Congress maintains a #me-too slush fund. I wonder if the monies therein aren't drawn via NDAs that can't be put aside when moral outrage (or political expediency) requires.
