This long-overdue move has just been announced. Ireland — a country with no ability to defend itself — has engaged vigorously in lawfare and economic war against Israel since October 7th. With some very limited exceptions, the media-political class here has made the most outrageous allegations without a smidgin of nuance. The last straw was our government’s decision to join South Africa’s Iran-funded “genocide” case before the ICJ.
This is a sad moment for Ireland’s tiny Jewish community, which has contributed so much but has been isolated in the past 24 months. Our odious president claimed that complaints of antisemitism in Ireland were no more than propaganda from the Israeli embassy. The lead government parties had the Iranian ambassador as an honoured guest at their respective national conventions, while Israel’s ambassador was not invited to one — and disinvited from the other.
Ireland’s economy is highly dependent on US companies who provide huge employment. The government here appears to be reckless as to the potential effects of its policy on our economy. Many US companies here are based in states with anti-BDS laws.

Keep accusing someone long enough, and they just might do it, and do it to you.

Its. Its embassy. Sorry to be that guy.

Ireland's "elite" is pathetically desperate to shed old images of a less-developed, cleric-dominated nation and be considered enlightened and tres European.

Please fix the apostrophe.
I was at Dublin's kosher restaurant last year this time. The community there very much has a siege mentality.

Very disturbing of what Ireland has become lately. My wife's grandfather (or is it great-grandfather?) was a Rabbi in Ireland. She traveled there just a few years ago to see his congregation and was courteously given a tour by a local resident. She even found an oil portrait of him.
