Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
Don't you wish that once in your life you could look as happy as an actor in a pharmaceutical commercial? These people are supposed to be suffering from an awful disease that can only be improved by this new breakthrough drug? No one who has a bad disease wants to see these people.
I didn't know that I was old until Neil Young's "Keep on rocking in the free world" became my instructional guide in how to get up from a chair.
I got fitted for a CPAP mask today. Among my minor medical problems is sleep apnea. I chose the most aesthetically pleasing model of delivery contraptions called nasal pillows. They seemed to fit well, so I am willing to give them a try. The Hannibal Lecter full face mask remains an option. I think PJ O'Rourke once wrote about how hard it was to pick up hot chicks in a minivan. I can now imagine a "When Harry met Sally" moment when some poor schmuck puts on his sleep apnea mask before that last kiss before lights out.
Although Mrs. Pessimist will be nearby, I fear that this will be my first night alone with a breathing machine.
That's all I've got for now.

The great thing about using a CPAP machine is that if you’re a stomach sleeper like I am, now you can bury your face in your pillow and still breathe.

Yeah, I've noticed that myself, especially when it comes to the last-minute, sped-up, recitation of the obligatory side effects. I'd be terrified to try those things for some of the lesser ailments when it seems that the cure might really be worse than the disease. In other cases, I might give it a go, but probably not while dancing in the town square or schmoozing in the pool.

Especially while the side-effects are read.

I have heard great things about CPAP machines, Southern P, and from persons far younger than we. One guy was so euphoric about it that I considered dashing straight out to get one for myself. Better energy, better mood, fewer colds., and the assisted-delivery of oxygen that makes eccentricities of position or bedding arrangement survivable.
And there were rumors that it was a CPAP that kept our former president (-ish) sharp as a tack...
never mind.

And then the visual of Tina Fey in Date Night pulling out a retainer and spilling drool while offering Steve Carell a good night kiss arrived in my head. Thanks.
