In November, you may have heard that Dennis Prager, renowned writer, lecturer and teacher and founder of Prager University, took a very bad fall in the shower, injuring his spinal cord. Since then, Dennis has been on the very slow path to recovery.

Initially, he had to be put on a respirator; even now, although they are weaning him off the respirator, he is not fully independent of it. He can finally eat and drink. He cannot move his body, although they are doing physical therapy with him. And, thank goodness, he can finally speak!

I have been following Dennis Prager since the time we lived in California. He is a man of rare integrity and compassion, and in spite of this terrible accident, he is living in gratitude. He looks forward to being behind the microphone again!

Oh my gosh, I did not know this had happened. Thanks for this, Susan. I will add Dennis to my prayers. The world needs Dennis and people of his very high caliber more than ever.

When I listened to Dennis on the radio, we were living in CA. One day, a foolish man called in. The subject at that time isn't relevant now, but he asked Dennis how much money he made. Heaven only knows why he responded, but he gave a ballpark figure and the caller attacked him as a rich elite; it was really awful, and clearly Dennis was deeply hurt.

I wrote to Dennis way back then, and told him not to let callers like that influence his desire to be candid and honest. He actually wrote me back, asking what he was to do in those situations. I wrote back to him, and said that he knew when it was important to be open and he knew when not to. And so many of us depended on his wisdom. He wrote back a thank you.

So sorry to hear this. I haven't listened to Prager in years, but always thought highly of him.
