Russia sent several dozen one-way drones into Poland, and Poland has invoked NATO Article 4.

View post on X

Statement from the NATO Secretary General.

Poland is a long-time and precious ally of the United States, and a shining counterexample to much of Europe, with a thriving economy and a military that has been diligently preparing for this day. Putin has put his alliance in order over the last few weeks, and now the bear wants a piece of that white-tailed eagle. He will get our special two-for-one deal.

Maybe Putin will step down to save his country.

I never thought that Putin was a crazy warmonger, just a bully. This changes my mind.

19 drones attacking over the course of seven hours. Not an accident.

Russia has an extensive border with Ukraine. Belarus, Russia's ally, also borders Ukraine. There should be no coherent reason the Russian drones need to pass over Poland's airspace to penetrate Ukrainian territory unless they were meant to test a NATO response to see what assets would be mobilized and from what specific locations.

There is an unconfirmed report that some of the drones had embedded Polish SIM cards which essentially means they were meant to fly into Polish airspace. The source for this is a Ukrainian-based website specializing in defense matters. So, a certain degree of skepticism may be required about whether Polish SIM cards were found.
