A great deal of international concern is being lavished on the innocent population of Gaza with some sympathy for the actual Hamas fighters waiting for the Israeli onslaught. By now the original invasion by thousands of heavily armed terrorists, designed to create the maximum amount of horror and force Israel to respond by an all-out invasion of Gaza, is vanishing from public memory.

Only the plight of the Gazans remains in many of the pages of our newspapers and our TV screens, the victims of the invasion are forgotten, the way people were killed or the fate of the hostages vanishing from view. The media move on to the next big story, Israel invades, innocents die, scenes of horror, things that we are informed can’t be unseen even as the horrors that provoked an Israeli response are definitely unseen and put aside.

There are some other innocents that I wish to pray for and keep in mind, the young soldiers of the IDF, the people waiting to be commanded to enter an obvious trap designed to kill as many of them as possible. They are the pride of their families the future of Israel, the future of the Jewish people, and many of them are going to be killed by these murderous savages.

One other group deserve our consideration, the senior officers who are going to order the young soldiers into battle. Even if it goes well, they are going to be second guessing themselves, wondering if they could have done better. If things go badly, I doubt any of us will be able to imagine how they will feel after these battles are over.

Evil days, caused by evil people committing appalling crimes. The proposed cure is also evil, necessarily so.

I imagine the invaders also second-guessed themselves, wondering if they could have done better.

But they probably had a very different idea of what 'better' would be.

A timely and well-written post; I recommend it for promotion to the Main Feed.

Sadly, at best, the World is indifferent to Israel. More typically, it is hostile. Thus, shifting attention from the terrorist acts committed against Israel by Hamas to the unpleasant plight of Palestinians living under Hamas in Gaza is not unexpected.

Two million Palestinians would be ungovernable if they truly wanted to throw off their domination by Hamas. The miserable conditions in Gaza are the consequences of the choices the majority of Palestinians have made to tolerate their own leaders.

For any of your friends and relatives who might advance the moral equivalent arguments or demand "proof that they really did this":

Note: The age restriction should be taken quite seriously. This is basically a compilation of Hamas' home videos and includes real-time footage of murders and mutilation of corpses.

I read somewhere that Hamas was elected into power with 90% of the vote. If that is true, the percentage of innocent Palestinians is pretty small. In my view, anyone who voted for Hamas to be in power is no longer an innocent. Hamas has always been clear about its violent intentions.
