What is your Christmas Prayer

I like to put thought into prayers on the holidays. This can be Thanksgiving or Christmas. I thought I might share one for tonight at our home, and one for tomorrow when I am with my parents. I'd love to see if anyone here has thoughts on their prayers for Christmas.

Christmas Eve

Come, O come Emmanual!
We celebrate, oh Lord your coming to us in flesh,
not as an Earthly King, but as a helpless infant,
who would suffer and toil as we do in this fallen world.

Tonight, we ask for Your Spirit to be upon us
to bring Your Grace, Your Support and
the Peace only You can bring.

We ask for Your Spirit to also be
upon our loved ones not present.
And let them feel Your hands upon them.

O Come, Emmanuel; God With Us
Now and Forever,

Amen

Christmas Day

Jesus we celebrate Your glorious coming into the World!
Sounds of heavenly trumpets through riven skies
echoes through years to us today.

As we bend beneath life's crushing load
and toil along the climbing way with slow and painful steps
we hear the songs of angels and long to life our heads.

We ask your spirit to come again and again to us
That we may find rest beside our weary road and
remember the Promises You Fulfilled and will Fulfill.

With Your help, we shall have renewed strength
and we all will lift our heads, voices raised,
sending back the song which still the angels sing.

Amen

Not sure about my Christmas prayer, but I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoy you here. Your posts and comments are among the ones I find most likely to be trenchant, thoughtful, and interesting. Thanks, and let’s have a lot more of it in the new year.

Thank you. That means a lot to me. Something, I needed to hear just now even.

Merry Christmas, Bryan. I can't pass through Atlanta without remembering the great meetup you hosted last year. The porch time was cool.
