Last night we did the latest episode of the podcast where we interviewed Gary McVey

Over the course of the interview we talked about conservates in film, how to break into Hollywood, the culture war and what conservatives have to do to really make a difference in bringing back into entertainment.

We also talk a little about what makes a film conservative, get into Stanley Kubrick and John Ford.

    This was very interesting. I liked the references to the John Ford westerns. The stories, scenery, actors, and characters they portrayed are great. Duty, honor, country.

    The comparison with Georgia was also something I hadn't thought about - access to equipment and parts.

    Re Top Gun. Yes, music was great. Story line was a little hokey and some of the flying scenes were BS. Tom Cruise should be commended on the effort he has made over the years making himself, the flying scenes, and characters more realistic. I thought it was well done, enough so that I bought the DVD.

    VDH has written a lot about tragic heroes from Greek history to the present day. Included in his analysis are great movies, Shane, Magnificent Seven, and High Noon. I would like to see a discussion on such great movies and why there aren't more of them these days.

    My co host hasnt even heard of the Magnificent 7 and so maybe next time we have Gary on we can get into the history more of Ford and Kubrick.
