I've written here, over the past few weeks, about the murder of Ann Widdecombe (pictured at right).

Today, The Telegraph, which is doing its best under difficult circumstances (when it comes to UK rules about what may be published regarding live police investigations), published an article relating "a new line of inquiry" having to do with a potential "lit incendiary device" which was pushed through Nigel Farage's home letterbox in April 2025.

Farage and Widdecombe were both closely identified with the Reform UK Party.

In April 2025, police did a cursory investigation of the incendiary device attack, concluded that there was nothing there, and closed the inquiry.

Today, Counterterrorism Policing London has referred itself (LOL) to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, announcing that it had identified (presumably all the way back there in April 2025) a "line of inquiry" that "was not pursued by them at the time."

You don't say.

Vicki Evans, the Senior National Coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing, had this to say:

We would urge the public, and the media, to help us to secure justice for those affected, and be mindful when sharing speculation or information not provided by police

If there are dots to be connected between the letterbox attack, the subsequently reported almost 1,600 death threats against Farage, and the murder of Anne Widdecombe, heaven help the Met. And the UK.

    The link to the Telegraph story requires a sign-up to read, but the dots from 16 months ago forward are disturbing, because if there are fingerprints linking political threats from similar perpetrators, they would want to nip that sooner than what has taken place. What does your gut tell you, and what do you think about the choice of new PM? Are authorities fearful of their own country's diverse political parties? How many are there?

    From this morning's Telegraph: Police investigate Widdecombe suspect over arson attack on Farage's home:

    Police are investigating whether the man charged with murdering Ann Widdecombe was also responsible for firebombing Nigel Farage’s home, The Telegraph understands.

    Counter-terrorism police are pursuing a new line of inquiry about the attack on the Reform UK leader’s house, in which an incendiary device was pushed through his letterbox.

    Officers are investigating whether Joshua Kerry, 28, could have been responsible for that attack, following his arrest over Miss Widdecombe’s murder last month.

    From the Telegraph, today (October 2, 2026): Widdecombe murder suspect charged with terror plot against Farage.

    Ann Widdecombe’s alleged murderer has been charged with preparing acts of terrorism against Nigel Farage.

    Joshua Kerry, 28, is accused of offences against the Reform UK leader between May 2024 and July 2026.

    Included in those "offences against Farage," as spelled out by the "Marvelous Ms. Evans" (the very one!) is the April 2025 firebombing incident at Farage's home.

    Had Britain's political, legal, and law-enforcement channels been less interested in laughing up their sleeves at that "far-right buffoon" Nigel Farage by ridiculing and pooh-poohing everything he said about being targeted and in danger, and had they been a little more interested in paying attention, pursuing facts and ensuring the course of justice during what they have now "discovered" was this criminal lunatic's apparently 26-month campaign against Farage, Ann Widdecombe would probably be alive today.
