In the spirit of the Olympics, we should honor the journalistic entities who have exhibited the greatest feats of mental and moral gymnastics over the past year and select the one most deserving of the coveted Golden Weasel award.
Because democracy dies in darkness or, more likely, at the hands of those political figures favored by the MSM, judging criteria should be an open source project. To start us off, I propose:
Flips category scoring
* Denying the “border czar” title for Ms. Harris even if one’s own journalists repeatedly reported that appointment after March 2021 (75 points). 15 bonus for each instance of the same reporter/journalist currently denying their own previous reporting.
* Shortest time elapsed between assertions of Biden’s fitness and calls for him to resign because of mental incapacity.
Week or less (100)
Two weeks (75)
One month (50)
Sustained Absurdity
* Still reporting that the “lab leak COVID-19 origin” is a hoax. (30 points)
* Still reporting or inferring that Hunter Biden’s laptop was/could have been a Russian disinformation plot. (50 points)
* Still reporting or suggesting that the Steele dossier was legitimate intel and or that the 2016 election was decided by Russian interference. (30 points)
* Recycling the lie that Trump praised the tiki torch guys at Charlottesville (25 points)
Notes:
It is a social media myth that MSNBC has already retired the trophy based on consecutive past wins. This year is clearly going to be very competitive.
If a print journo issues nonsense on a cable show appearance, the cable network and the print entity split the points awarded for that instance.
Suggest your own scoring or just propose some appropriate nominees.

In the "flips" category there should be something for the shortest time between praising President Biden's persistence or tenacity or strength or similar praiseworthy characteristic for insisting he is in the election for the duration and praising President Biden's selflessness or statesmanship or similar praiseworthy characteristic for stepping away from the election.
96 hours or less (roughly Sunday - Thursday) 100 points
96 - 120 hours (to Friday) 75 points
120 - 144 hours (to Saturday) 50 points

Double flip category - Time elapsed between praising Biden's mental acuity to calling for his resignation due to drooling during the debate and back to praising him as a true American hero excelling George Washington for his selfless withdrawal from the nomination race.
