Saving democracy by controlling elections

I don't have time to write a post about it, but you simply must read "Can Democracy Survive 'The Defenders of Democracy'?" by Johnathan Turley. He begins by quoting Democrats, who are saying that having Republicans in positions of power is nothing less than tyranny:

In 2022, House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) told “Fox News Sunday” that “democracy will be ending” if Democrats lost the midterms.

The rhetoric has continued to ramp up with the upcoming election.

From President Joe Biden to a host of progressive politicians and pundits, the 2024 election is all about saving democracy. The public has been told that if the Democrats lose power, citizens will be living in a tyrannical hellscape. Vice President Kamala Harris stated in one interview that 2024 “genuinely could be” the last democratic election in America’s history. Dozens of Democrats have said that democracy will end if Biden is not reelected.

The Washington Post even ran an op-ed titled, “A Trump dictatorship is increasingly inevitable. We should stop pretending.”

Mr. Turley then discusses the Democrats' open attempt to keep Republicans off ballots all over the country, and their using the courts to prosecute their political opponents, emphasizing the virtue of slanted news coverage, openly promoting the use of federal agencies to censor ideas they disagree with—so on and so forth. Nothing controversial, and nothing new. This is just politics as usual for modern Democrats.

In a later paragraph, he points out that some Americans have recognized the obvious and understand the intentions of the Democrats:

...some in the country may view Biden and the Democrats as existential threats not just to democracy, but to themselves. They see a party that is engaged in efforts to cleanse ballots (of Republicans), censor dissenting voices and prosecute political opponents.

Yes, some may see it that way. I'm more amazed by those who don't see it that way, but whatever.

You should read the whole article. It's outstanding. It makes a lot of obvious points, about a lot of obvious Democrat efforts to control elections.

And the fact that over a quarter of the population (maybe much more—hard to say) is about to vote Democrat is absolutely terrifying.

I hope that many Democrat voters are profoundly ill-informed about current events.

I fear that they are not.

Jonathan Turley is awesome and an admirable truth teller. I'm assuming he's correct, and I'm getting more concerned every day. I wonder, how much worse can it get?

The Democrat playbook is to always ACCUSE the Republicans of doing exactly what the Democrats are doing themselves. I capitalize the word "accuse" because the implication behind their method is that what the Democrats are doing is bad, illegal, evil, and unconstitutional AND they know it! Thus they attempt to cast their aspersions onto their competitor.

The Dems have themselves worked up to quite a state, haven't they?

This is why not voting for Trump is support if tyranny.
