Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
The Southern Poverty Law Center is a leftist 501(c)(3) charity funded by George Soros, George Clooney, Tim Cook (Apple) — the organization appealed to the who’s who of the rich and leftist. Its original, admirable mission was to combat actual racism, but as the battle was increasingly won, it ran out of actual racists to parade out for fundraising.
Solution? Create some! So it proceeded to fund organizations like the KKK. From the Daily Wire:
The Justice Department has indicted the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for purportedly funding the Unite the Right rally, assisting with its messaging and coordination, and secretly funneling over $3 million to the leaders and organizers of the very racist groups the SPLC claimed to be dismantling — among them the Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Nation, and the National Alliance. Their paid informants weren’t just monitoring extremist groups; they were actively promoting them, while the SPLC simultaneously denounced those same groups in its publications and solicited donor money to fight them.
Can the Justice Department win a case in our largely leftist court system that is especially egregious in the Administrative State bastion, the DC circuit court? Unlikely. If the shoe were on the other foot, however, and a “right-wing” (what would have been a “centrist” organization before Obama) were charged during a Democrat administration, the standard “guilty with no chance of being proven innocent” would be in effect with top story billing for weeks.
The election of Obama exposed a white supremacist deficit that was an existential threat to the Democratic Administrative State race industry.
From its founding, the Democratic Party defended slavery, fought its abolition, and launched the Civil War to preserve the institution. The Republican Party was founded in 1854 as an explicitly anti-slavery counterforce. Abraham Lincoln — the first Republican president — was elected on the promise of containing slavery’s expansion. Democrats smeared him, seceded from the Union, waged war against his government, and ultimately assassinated him for the crime of wanting to free black Americans. The Ku Klux Klan was founded by Democrats in Tennessee in 1866. Today, Democrats continue to fund the very groups they now pretend they never supported.
Democrats are supremacist to the core. A supremacist in academic, administrative clothing is still a supremacist! Much of their supremacy is nonetheless thinly disguised racism, and latent antisemitism has leaked out lately. Women are held superior to men, degrees of education signify levels of worth, and post-Christianity indicates transcendence.
And Democratic racism against Blacks is hardly trivial. Black families were immediately attacked as civil rights passed by replacing fathers with more welfare for single black mothers. Having a father in the home became a liability. Serial sex partners for mom passing through the household became the role model for young Black boys, seeing promiscuity, irresponsibility, criminality and drug abuse as the way toward authentic Black manhood. This common cause of generational Black poverty is never explored … Black poverty is just more proof of racism after all.
Fostering government dependence is a cornerstone of the Democratic Party. After 1965, they doubled down by bringing in waves of immigrants, starting with legal immigrants and then finding that illegal immigrants were an even better servant class. Their illegal status allowed them to be exploited as underpaid gardeners, nannies, hotel maids, farm laborers. As the border became completely open, child trafficking became another large income source. Maintaining strict opposition to voter ID allowed a vast increase in the Democratic voting base without needing as much support from the dead. Those voters from the 1800s were starting to get stale!
As the Wire's Chloe Trapanotto sums it up: "America doesn’t have a white supremacy problem. It has a Democrats-funding-white-supremacy-groups problem, and now the receipts are in federal court."
Our core problem remains Godless Marxism, but looking at some detailed manifestations helps get a handle on the big picture.

Funding "white supremacist" organizations is only a small fraction of the hate the Southern Poverty Law Center manufactures.
By labeling any group or organization that does not fully embrace radical left ideas as a "hate" group, the SPLC establishes the premise that it is acceptable, and even necessary to hate that group or organization and any person who associates with that group or organization.
The SPLC creates the "permission structure" that allows, or even encourages, vilification, discrimination, and even violence against those groups, organizations, and people.
The SPLC itself is probably the country's largest actual hate group.

SPLC sued the KKK after the heavy lifting had already been done by civil rights leaders, workers and feds (like my father) and then claimed credit for their role, cashed in and even had accounts in the Caimans just like every other non-profit service group.. Yeah, right.
It bothers me that the coverage does not go deeply into the pernicious habit of the SPLC of labelling ALL conservative groups hate groups. They should recall the attack on the Family Research Council in which a loon with a brochure in his pocket listing the FRC as a hate group entered the lobby, pulled out a gun and if not tackled by a very heroic security guard, could have injured or wounded many. I knew people in that building at the time.

What are the odds those tiki torch carrying neo-Nazis from Charlottesville would only rally once? Feels like it was an American intel op against Trump. That’s my working assumption.

All of this is allegations, no? And, heck, a ham sandwich can get an indictment, no?
That being said, based on the very public stories several of the bloggers I’ve followed for, wow, more than 26 years now, the SPLC - an organization my late, very liberal mom supported (we got their newsletter, wheee!) - might need to add an “E” for “extortion” to its abbreviation. I believe these allegations and am not surprised.
With that in mind, I do run with some folks who are “Blue no matter who” to whom this is preposterous. Some of these folks are slightly to the left of Hakeem “I was filmed pulling a Fire Alarm!” Jefferies, and good grief, the usual suspects doth protest too much.
I did bring up that, oh, what, 30 years ago, the same people emphatically denied even the most remote possibility that Monica Lewinsky was a lying, conniving, Israeli plant or worse… I recall that they might not understand a man like Bill Clinton and perhaps it’s not implausible… they were CRUSHED when Bill went on live, public TV and admitted it was true. I should’ve bet money on it…
The same thing is going to happen, when (not if), it all turns out to be true with the SPLC and their hate-group antics.
What does make me really uneasy about this, though, is that there’s a lot more converging in 2026 than 1997. The stakes are a couple of orders of magnitude higher, and I doubt the SPLC, and the whole of Democrats in Congress have the collective political agility of Bill Clinton. The potential for serious violence as a distraction/means to end investigations - stir the pot, agitate, the worse the better, what is to be done, and so forth is what I see.

I believe in fighting fire with fire. Someone on the Rights should start an organization called "Center for Ending Hate and Bigotry". This would list organizations that the Right can attack as full of hate and work to cancel them following Leftist rules for radicals. It could start with the KKK (a Democrat paramilitary organization) and then include those that promote Marxist (clearly hate and bigotry) and those promoting communism (hate America and prosperity). The CEHB would put Mandami and the SPLC and Antifa all on the list.
The Left is good at organizing and destroying the reputations of people and fomenting violence. The Right needs to be better at the first two the end the third.
