Trump Soothes Our Pet Peeves with Executive Orders

While the Democrats are screaming and chanting about the horror of the work of Elon Musk and Donald Trump, they are missing the chance to actually delight in some of Trump’s Executive Orders.

First, there is Trump’s ban of paper straws:

Section 1. Policy. An irrational campaign against plastic straws has resulted in major cities, States, and businesses banning the use or automatic inclusion of plastic straws with beverages. Plastic straws are often replaced by paper straws, which are nonfunctional, use chemicals that may carry risks to human health, are more expensive to produce than plastic straws, and often force users to use multiple straws. Additionally, paper straws sometimes come individually wrapped in plastic, undermining the environmental argument for their use. It is therefore the policy of the United States to end the use of paper straws.

It sounds like a dignified and practical change, but how many people spit up their coffee as they laughed at his decision (which was a great one!)? While agencies are being disrupted and shut down, people can now celebrate that they will never again have to tolerate the use of paper straws. How many people have you commiserated with to laud this change?

But an even wider-ranging change was made regarding water usage; Trump’s rant on Truth Social speaks to all of us :

In his Truth Social post published on Tuesday morning, Trump said he had instructed recently confirmed Environmental Protection Agency Secretary Lee Zeldin to ‘immediately go back to my Environmental Orders, which were terminated by Crooked Joe Biden, on Water Standards and Flow’ concerning toilets, washing machines, dishwashers, sinks and showers. The president also said he told Zeldin he wants to ‘go back to the common sense standards on LIGHTBULBS’ from his first administration, adding: ‘I look forward to signing these orders.’

How often have you had to tolerate the poor performance of your dishwasher or washing machine? Or a toilet that won’t flush properly? Or try to use the lightbulbs that were forced on us? Or try to get a decent shower out of a spitting shower head?

Most of us probably haven’t had to deal with those inconveniences, because we ignored these bans forced on us by the federal government, as much as we could. Of course, you know that would have made us criminals!

Watch for more of these changes that directly impact the pleasures of our personal lives. I can’t wait to see what he attacks next.
