USCCB Once Again Proves They Are Useless

The USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) held its annual meeting recently in Baltimore, Maryland. Why, you ask? Well, that is a good question. One thing they did was elect a new president of the USCCB: Paul Coakley of Oklahoma City. (Quiz - who is the current president?)

The big event (according to the USCCB) was to release a Special Pastoral Message, the first in 12 years. Wow, maybe they will finally address one of these biggies:

+ A message finally denouncing the predator Ted McCarrick and the evil he inflicted on the Church.
+ A message finally denouncing the horror of abortion and the complicity of our “devout Catholics” - Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Dick Durbin, etc. - in supporting fully this evil.
+ A message finally denouncing the horror of the Biden administration and the Democrats pushing the LGBTQ agenda and child mutilation.
+ A message finally denouncing the disgrace of the Biden administration and the Democrats fully supporting so-called same-sex marriage.
+ A message finally apologizing for denying the faithful the sacraments during that bad cold season known as Covid.
+ A message apologizing for the draconian measures of shutting down the TLM or disallowing kneeling while receiving the Eucharist on the tongue.

No, sadly. As I warned you earlier, when McElroy was installed as Cardinal Archbishop of Washington, it was about immigration.

I imagine this special message came about because of the 100s of millions of dollars that will not flow to them from the US government because of the shutdown of USAID money.

There are good bishops out there - please pray for them. But when they get together as a group and put out politically charged videos like this, you know the organization has lost the plot.

Please go away, USCCB. The money you suck out of the faithful to push your agenda can be put to much better use.

I tremble for my bishops when I reflect that God is just.

When did the Catholic Church get out of the business of saving souls?

I can feel your level of disappointment and frustration, Scott. I'll pray for wisdom and healing for the future.

God has higher standards for believers than non-believers, higher standards for priests than lay people, and hight standards for Bishops than priests. Merciful, but Just.
