As our friend Arahant pointed out, our friend Percival passed away recently. I admired him a great deal. His presence on Ricochet will be missed. I went to his feed and noted that he had made over 71,000 comments on Ricochet. He had a lot to say. So how did he conclude? His last comment was:
Of course, he probably didn't know that he would be concluding with that. Who among us could? But I think Percival would've been happy with that. It's an appropriate stopping point.
Percival got me to wondering, what would I say? Suppose the Angel of Death comes to you and says, "Ok, it's your time. Time to move on from this life. Of course, I couldn't help but notice your interest in this website called 'Ricochet'. Business is slow, I've got some spare time, so I'll let you make one last comment on that site. Take your time. Say whatever you want. You've got three minutes. I'll be right back."
What would you say?
Like my friend Percival, I've had a lot to say on Ricochet. But how would I sum it up, if I were forced to do so? What is my point? What am I trying to get across? Percival probably didn't know that that was his last comment. But if he did, what would he have said? What would I say?
What would you say?
Take your time.
You've got three minutes.

I have no complaints and no desire for any "do-overs." Now I am off to my greatest adventure.

It takes decades, but in the long run, the Austrian economists are right about everything.

Gold has destroyed the stock market over the last 30 years and nobody even notices. Gold goes up because they print too much money and they can't stop. You can't expect conservatism to work or sell in these circumstances. You are going to get populism and socialism good and hard.

Have kids. Nothing else I've done or built matters as much. Beyond that... be a useful engine.
