How Stupid Do They Think We Are?

The Biden administration has made innumerable missteps, lied to the American public repeatedly and done a ghastly job of managing “refugees” allowed into the country—why in the world would they think we’d welcome an influx of Palestinian refugees now?

Let me explain the purported reasons that the administration thinks this is a sensible idea followed, in some cases, by the reason it’s not:

  • Palestinians would only be released to family members in the United States.

We’ve seen too many people who are protesting against Jews and Israel in this country, some who have demonstrated violence and a hatred of the United States. If these refugees enter, what assurances do we have that they won’t join the hostile pro-Palestinian cause?

  • The eligible population is estimated to be “relatively small.”

We have no idea how many will be admitted, and how long this process will continue. Whatever number of people is approved, it could easily be expanded by the authorities.

  • Let’s remember that according to Hamas, 34,000 Palestinians have been killed (numbers are questionable and don’t distinguish between civilians and Hamas soldiers).

The U.S. is not responsible for rescuing the Palestinian population, especially since no other country will have them. They chose Hamas through elections, and polls indicate that they supported the actions of October 7.

  • Special efforts will be made to allow children and people with medical issues to enter the country.

Palestinian children have been known to attack Israelis, both military and civilians. Once those with medical issues enter our country, will they be returned to Gaza after treatment? Will they be vetted, regardless of their age or medical condition?

  • Historically, we have admitted 400,000 refugees worldwide, but not Palestinians. Last year we allowed only 56 Palestinians of the 60,000 refugees that were allowed to enter.

Do I need to explain why this policy should not be changed?

The Biden administration doesn’t understand or doesn’t care that they have no credibility regarding almost any issue on immigration: they don’t protect our borders; they don’t do proper vetting; thousands of “get-aways” have entered the country; hundreds of thousands who’ve entered have been told to return on certain dates for hearings, although it’s not clear if any of these people are being monitored in any way or if they will be held accountable if they don't appear.

Anyone with half a brain knows that the administration's motive is not trying to be humanitarian: it’s called politics. They hope that the Muslim voters in Michigan and Minnesota will be persuaded that the U.S. really doesn’t support Israel, but has a secret alliance with the Palestinians, and with enough incentive, they will vote for Biden in November.

Our country is overrun with invaders, and no one takes the problem seriously.

How can the Biden administration expect us to take in Palestinian refugees who will likely not be properly vetted, who may hate the United States, and who would relish the idea of causing chaos in the U.S.?

It's a terrible idea for all the reasons you state Susan, plus none of the many Arab/Muslim countries in the region want anything to do with either the Gazans or the West Bank so called Palestinians (who are just Arab Muslims). None offered to take them in when Israel announced their plan to take out Hamas and encouraged the Gazans to vacate the area right after 10/7 and historically none have ever taken them into their country as they know this would only lead to chaos in their country. If they won't take any, then any reasonable country would take that into account before offering asylum to even a single Palestinian. Also, recent and current polling shows these Palestinians overwhelmingly approved (something like 75%) of the 10/7 Hamas attack. They are nothing but bad news.

Thanks, tigerlily. I couldn't agee more. But will Biden take the public's view into account?

It’s almost as if Biden is a monarch. The Constitution doesn’t permit that but not enough people (or at least the “right” people) seem to care. Somebody is spreading the wealth — and it is not the poor who are getting it in any meaningful way.

Because the Biden administration hates America and relishes the idea of causing chaos in the U.S.

But will Biden take the public’s view into account?

Nobody in Washington gives a crap what the citizen class thinks. 80% of Americans want the border secured. Washington wants it wide open.

    It remains open.
