Quick hit -- just in case you heard about two men in a car that nearly killed some Muslim vehicularly in the States, speeding off and shouting, "This is MAGA country, [redacted]!" or something similar, and how there should be both a nationwide manhunt and week of reflection about what terrible people we are...
It was a hoax. Of course, it was.
I look forward to the day when "hate crime" hoaxes are prosecuted as "hate crimes" themselves. But these laws are not designed to produce fair treatment of anybody, by anybody. "Hate crime" laws are literal thoughtcrime laws, and designed to produce a one-way suppression.
