DOGE is reporting that millions of very old Americans are receiving Social Security funds. More than 18 million Americans well over the age of 100 are recipients...or other Americans not so old. From Breitbart:

For instance, 4.7 million were listed from ages 100-109, but it gets worse: 3.6 million are listed for 110 to 119, 3.4 million for 120 to 129, 3.9 million for 130 to 139, 3.4 million for 140-149, and 1.3 million for 150-159.

It’s not likely — and I’m just spitballing here — that Americans are living longer, sometimes to age 120 or 130 or 200 or more, essentially longer than any other citizens in the world. It is probably more likely, and I realize this sounds crazy, that taxpayers’ money for Social Security is going to millions of people who haven’t died but are banking or cashing Social Security checks for people who have. Democrats don’t appear to be upset about this. Huh, go figure. More here.

It should be noted that Americans have always been a generous people. Perhaps sometimes naïve, but generous. American taxpayers for decades have been more than willing to trust members of Congress, presidents, hordes of bureaucrats and friends of bureaucrats with a portion of their hard-earned money to spend wisely. Though for years they knew that a portion of their tax dollars were being misspent. They complained occasionally when members of Congress and successive cabinet members of administrations were miraculously becoming multi-millionaires, but no one seemed to go to jail, with very rare exceptions. They had a sense or knew that the federal government was deeply corrupt. They knew this because they had witnessed corruption on the local and state levels. But they never had the receipts on the extent of corruption at the federal level in any substantive way. The Pentagon couldn’t even perform audits for years. And now, when the Secretary of the Treasury wants to audit the Treasury Department, a federal judge has ordered that he isn’t entitled to. Perhaps some federal judges need to be audited to see if they’re living well beyond their means.

Previous administrations had an opportunity to uncover this massive theft of tax dollars. They failed or they gave up, or weren’t actually that interested in doing so. The last president, this fellow named Biden and his family, were of course hip deep in corruption, orchestrating numerous pay-for-access schemes, shaking down foreign countries for favorable treatment in exchange for millions of dollars that were laundered in numerous bank accounts which they hoped were untraceable. So, looking to a thoroughly corrupt and dishonest president to somehow display a scintilla of concern for how American taxpayers’ money was stolen was laughable. That Joseph Biden was aware of any document he was signing that was pushed under his nose is also laughable. And while he meandered through the White House in search of a bathroom or little girls to sniff or someplace to lay down and sleep when not sleeping at the beach in Delaware… the bureaucratic vermin continued to run rampant through numerous federal government agencies to plunder the treasury.

Until now. Now American taxpayers are finding out just how many hundreds of billions — or perhaps trillions — of dollars have not just been misspent on boondoggle programs that haven’t corrected any purported societal wrongs or restrained the planet from misbehaving, but have been, well, stolen. It has taken Donald Trump and DOGE to finally identify, line item by line item, the massive extent of graft and corruption that has raided the federal treasury for years. The American people are now getting the receipts; the receipts that Democrat members of Congress don’t want anyone to see. We may never see the day that every member of Congress is audited each year that they serve, but perhaps the new Department of Justice and the FBI can begin looking into any apparent connections from what has been unearthed by DOGE and trace them back to those on Capitol Hill who may have benefitted. I know it’s too early to celebrate Independence Day, but it seems like each day calls for fireworks.

Darn, I just recently signed up for my SS benefits to begin at "full" benefits, rather than waiting for a few more years to get some enhanced payout. I based my decision on a normal life expectancy time line.

Now I learn that once a person starts collecting SS, their odds rise dramatically to live well into the 150-200 year range. This is biblical!

The SS Trust Fund should be depleted in 9 years. Maybe the shortfall is due to fraud. Maybe the demographers in the 80's got it right, but failed to anticipate that politicians would allow for 20% waste and fraud. The thing about corruption is that it corrupts other things.

    Quibble:

Technically, that data does not indicate that all those SSNs are collecting benefits. It merely indicates that deaths have not been recorded for those SSNs.

Nor did Elon Musk ever claim that those SSNs are collecting benefits, as is being reported by the anti-Elon media.
