Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
Or so I thought. The whole "Blexit" thing was rather charming, and you occasionally made some good and even gracious points in your appearances on Fox News and a few other channels. You sounded young. And smart. And rational. A Republican, or even a right-wing, dream.
You were with Turning Point and the Daily Wire, after all. Hardly "swivel-eyed loons," for those of us who start off with an inclination towards the right.
And then things started to go sideways. You "resigned" from TPUSA in the Spring of 2019, after some controversial remarks about Hitler in which (my understanding) you argued that he was "OK" while working his message just within Germany, and criticizing him only for "going global" with it.
You were fired by the Daily Wire in 2024, after a spat with Ben Shapiro, who thought that you'd too often embraced "anti-Semitic rhetoric."
Ever since then, you appear to have been on a crusade against those who once lifted you up, and against those you think have done you harm. What's confusing to dummies like me is that those persons seem--often--to be one and the same.
I'm not sure how that works. But then perhaps I'm not as smart as you.
All I do know is that I'm pretty sure Charlie Kirk never wished you ill. And that Ben Shapiro, who's doing quite well without you on board, doesn't really give a hoot where you end up.
And yet you seem pretty determined to own, or even--in some cases to destroy--the careers and narratives of both those men, often with shallow and inaccurate outtakes from their statements and their lives. And--it seems from your conversation--you think that if you can take out he who was once your hero--Donald Trump--along the way, then all the better.
What's really up?
PS: Please see Coleman Hughes's Twitter feed on the subject of Ms. Owens. His description of her as suffering from "apophenia" is perfect. (Not sure I'd go so far in the other direction he asserts.) But I've known a very few folks in my life who just couldn't stop themselves descending into conspiracy theory rabbit holes while struggling to make connections between unrelated matters, and--although I'm a great believer in the aphorism that, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't out to get you, sometimes it's time to give it a rest, and give the other 99.9% of the population a break.
And--if you're not able to do that--Candace--at least you should consider doing the math. Your latest theory (which you attribute to your "research" and your "hacking") that the US military assassinated Charlie Kirk based on a plan which originated among itself in July of 2025) seems to have placed its original reliance on your discovered "fact" that an Egyptian Air Force jet departed Provo, Utah, only minutes after the Kirk assassination. (Replay of Owens's Tweets here.) Of course, Candace, you'd totally mucked up the time zones, and the Egyptian jet left the airport hours before you said it did.
Lord. I should have thought, you being married to a Brit and all, that you'd have been a bit more sensitive to the time zone issue, and taken a bit more care...
Candace, it might be time to give it a rest. You have a life, a family, and children. Why not focus on them, rather than on what appears to be a desperate attempt to thrust yourself forward in an attempt to inherit the legacy of Charlie Kirk?

I did look at Coleman Hughes's feed, and searched for Candace Owens. The first image is this:
My first impression was "AOC!" On closer study, tho', there's also a bit of Megyn Kelly. I don't know what this means. It is as if someone crossed the dementia of the left with the astonished scoldiness of the right.

Provocation draws clicks draw sponsors. For me, she has transitioned from a figure whose positions might be worth examining to just another controversialist. Always a sad progression.

Agreed. She once seemed to be a fresh, valuable new voice on the right...then she went bad, really bad. A mystery that almost deserves its own conspiracy theory.

It's hard not to think about Candace without bringing Mr. Carlson into the picture. They're not quite in the same category, but, considering that I watched Carlson pretty regularly on Fox, it's getting close. Tucker's latest features the absurd Alex Jones.

And they both have taken up the rehabilitation of the paper hanger who industrialized genocide. It takes a very special sort of bubble to produce such horror.
