Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
I started marinating the baby-back ribs last night. This morning, I put the flags out on the front porch - and will do so tomorrow morning and Sunday. Neutral observer will pick up the corn and baked beans today, along with beer, wine, and champagne.
Early this afternoon, I'll put the ribs in the slow cooker and fire it up. Once they begin to get tender, I'll turn it off and let them sit overnight. That way, I can time it better on the 4th to stop cooking when they begin to fall off the bone.
Ultra-tender pork baby-backs, ears of corn dripping butter, heaps of baked beans, all washed down with nature's most perfect food (beer) - the perfect way to celebrate our 250th birthday.
Happy Birthday, USA! And God bless America!
We are SO ready for this special 4th of July . . .

My daughter married into a family with a very Italian heritage. Every Christmas they do the Feast of the Seven Fishes. I’ve been toying with Ekos’s 7 Fishes On the 4th … Oysters, clams, mussels, shrimp, salmon, crab and haddock … mostly on the grill. Lots of cold beer and white wine….
I’m on the wagon this year with the last chemo…but maybe next…

My mouth is watering - what time should Ricochet members be over?? I love chopped fresh rosemary on the corn. Hot dogs, baked beans coleslaw and neighborhood fireworks - last year this place was lit up like Macy's!

You pick up baked beans? Even I can prepare those. All you need is a pot big enough and a trusty can opener.

A simple 4th here: Neighborhood parade; hot dogs, baked beans, corn, salad, apple pie a la mode; neighborhood fireworks that rival whole city displays.
