For several years now I have been trying to figure out where this drive for transsexuality came from. I still haven't figured it out. Back in 2010 or so, I learned how to dance the tango and would go to milongas where I danced with many women. One of my frequent dance partners was a pediatrician who enjoyed conversing with me because I had been a pediatrician in an earlier career. In one conversation, she told me that she was distressed about her niece who was 13 years old and undergoing hormone blockers and set for sex change surgery in the near future. I told her I had never heard of that and she was right to be appalled. That truly was the first time I had ever heard of a child being encouraged to change their sex or gender (which were considered the same thing at that time).
Fast forward just a few years and we have drag queens highlighting the opening ceremony of the Olympics to mock all of us, not just Christians. Sexuality is obviously a complex thing. I don't think I really chose to be heterosexual and I accept that my many homosexual male and female friends have a different orientation. None of the many homosexual men and women that I admire seem to go out of their way to be a freak, however. Just the opposite.
If you want to be a freak, learn to play the guitar and join a rock band. If you are good at that I will give you your due and accept you as a freak. When you are willing to bite the head off of a live bat on stage then I will say that you have real freak potential. Those pathetic freak imposters at the Olympics are embarrassing to the many freaks who had to work hard to reach freak status.
The whole situation is a freaking mess.

Interestingly, 2012 was regarded as the turning point:

I am hoping others join in with their theories on how all of a sudden the trans issue and its related activities became such a part and parcel of modern life.
But no matter how many people reply, 9DN, I think your answer is the best.

This why I strongly dislike Dylan Mulvaney. He is an effeminate gay dude who wants attention so he pretended to be trans rather than learn an instrument or learn how to dance beautifully.
I quite like gay dudes with talent who become great entertainers. Which is to say I like well made pop music.
I don't have a problem with trans people. I have a problem with lazy people without any discernible talent.
