Reactions to DSA

One reasonable reaction to the DSA would be a desire to debate: Marx is wrong. Adam Smith, Milton Friedman, and Thomas Sowell are right. Let’s hash it out.

Another reasonable reaction to the DSA could be a desire to educate: The historical record of Marxism is long, broad, and filled with death, poverty, and tears. The historical record of Capitalism is growth, innovation, reduction of poverty, and success.

The third reasonable reaction to DSA: A desire to give its members a hug and invite them to Church. More than being historically ignorant and intellectually challenged, they are spiritually empty. Filled with envy and resentment, devoid of gratitude. They believe a perfect government will produce happy, perfect lives. They are proof that if you don't believe in God, you will fill the void with nonsense.

The fourth reasonable reaction to DSA: send them to a Tony Robbins’ self-improvement program. They have grandiose ideas about what they can achieve as leaders of a grandiose government, but they are afraid to discover what they can achieve as ambitious, striving individuals.

On one hand, DSA the organization can’t be ignored. It truly seeks to destroy America. Though it will never succeed, it might do significant damage while failing. One sign of their detachment from reality is that some DSA-ers believe violence will succeed where logic, reason, persuasion, and democracy will not.

On the other hand, most (not all) of the membership of DSA, as individuals, are literally pitiful. They have not, and will not, ever accomplish much of anything in their lives. A select few have political charisma that attracts votes, but achievement requires attributes other than charisma—and they lack all of those other attributes.

G-Pub

PS: Abdul El-Sayed is not DSA. He is a conniving politician who is cynically trying to ride the DSA wave to power. He is not spiritually empty, but not in a good way. He should not be pitied. He should be defeated.

The Islamist infiltration into the DSA is more troubling than the DSA infiltration into the Democrats. How activist LGBT, etc. types can share a political tent with people who would righteously kill them defies explanation. (“Queers for Palestine” is a joke, a sad, sad joke.)

'Politics makes strange bedfellows' might not be the right phrase here.

No, you found exactly the right phrase. And strange they all are.

Reaction 3 hits the mark. The emptiness, the God-sized hole is, I think, the real inciting incident of DSA and DSA-adjacent (to include those horseshoe-ing toward them) types. Filling that hole with the ever-redefinable self and making one's self downwardly mobile is a recipe for tragedy, both personal and societal.

This video represents one way to communicate with the socialism-tending people...what do you think?

Modern Islamist theorists have opined that western capitalism and communism will both inevitable decline and even help take each other down leaving the world open to conquest by Islam as the only remaining system of meaning.

Mixing Islam and socialism is kinda like adding ricin to cyanide just in case the first one does not destroy all good things quick enough.

Aside from their generally toxic ideologies, those two entities share a strong aversion to serious self-examination. It is stunning that the disaster of Communism with still open museums of failure in Cuba and North Korea does not deter morons from seeking to emulate it as if it might work this time.

The fact that the Arab Islamic world would be the worst of the Third World if not for massive oil income, that millions of its people are fleeing to the West, that even with huge advantages in numbers and with modern weapons the Israelis still kicked their asses, that their politics consists of alternating authoritarian rules and pseudo-caliphates with violence in between, that Islam was far more extensively involved with slavery that the West, and that the West achieved economic, technological and military superiority is glossed over with the fantasy that if only non-Islam is erased with there be happiness an prosperity. Like Communism, "real" Islam has never been tried.
