Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
The more we hear about Tim Walz, the more we realize that this man is no folksy, cuddly Midwesterner. The man has questionable associates in his life, particularly with radical Islamists, and few people seem to notice. Shouldn’t the man be able to choose his friends freely? Yes. Unless they take stands that jeopardize the security of the United States.
So who is the person that Walz is proudly associating with? His name is Asad Zaman:
As he campaigned to be Minnesota’s next governor, Tim Walz called a Muslim cleric who promoted a pro-Adolf Hitler film a ‘master teacher’ who offered Walz lessons over the time they ‘spent together,’ according to footage at a 2018 event unearthed by the Washington Examiner.
What has Zaman said or done that is so egregious?
Zaman, meanwhile, has used his Facebook page over the years to share official Hamas press releases, blog posts on antisemitic websites slamming Jews, and, in one 2015 instance, a link to a piece on a website for a pro-Hitler film called The Greatest Story Never Told. The propaganda movie was released in 2013 and is a favorite among antisemites and QAnon conspiracy influencers, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
To demonstrate Zaman’s extremism in his affiliations, consider these facts from a CAIR conference that he and Walz attended:
Photos of the conference show Walz posed with Hatem Bazian, an anti-Semitic scholar who has for years defended anti-Israel terrorist activity. Bazian is the founder of Students for Justice in Palestine, the group behind many of the pro-Hamas and anti-Semitic rallies across college campuses in the wake of the Oct. 7 attacks. The group's George Washington University chapter projected the slogan ‘Glory to Our Martyrs’ days after the attack. Bazian also founded Students for Justice in Palestine's parent group American Muslims for Palestine, an influential anti-Israel organization under investigation in Virginia for allegedly financing terrorist activity.
So you may say, okay, what difference does their relationship make?
The facts are that not only has Walz shown sympathy for those aligned with terrorists, but so has Kamala Harris. In her public comments, Harris has been critical of Israel regarding the Gaza war. She also rebuffed Bibi Netanyahu when he gave his speech to Congress, where she should have been the presiding officer. And after she met with him privately, she indicated that ending the war rested with Israel (even though Hamas has repeatedly pulled out of talks, including the talks scheduled for today). Her favoritism toward Hamas also empowers their current leader, Yahya Sinwar, who has shown no interest in releasing the hostages.
The serious issues with Walz and Harris are centered on our relationship with Iran. As we repeatedly have shown our unwillingness to confront Iran and hold them accountable for attacks on our bases, we have also communicated our continual desire to allow Iran to take over the Middle East. For years we have suggested that we want to leave the Middle East and put Iran “in charge,” in spite of the objections of other Middle Eastern countries who oppose this empowerment.
The bizarre part of our strategy is that Iran not only wants to control the Middle East, but we are the “great Satan,” and they want to destroy us, too. Befriending them and their cohorts will not stop them from trying to eliminate us. They are likely already nuclear-armed; they threaten us on the seas; and we have no reason to think we are safe from their bombs as we naively sit on our hands on the other side of the world.
I think it’s obvious that Harris and Walz favor Islamists (since Iran supports their own terrorist proxies), and we may finally get our due for being so blind all these years.
We can not let the Democrats win.

From what I have seen and heard on him, this seems accurate and very disturbing, not to mention his time spent in China. From all the people she could have picked (her line up was 4 older white men - that surprised me), she seemed to pick the sketchiest one of all. I seriously wonder if he wasn't picked for her by "others"... Just like this whole ticket and the shoving of Biden aside happening so quickly.
Surely everyone saw for quite some time, his decline. Then her rise to the top after her popularity was in the dumper, is even more bizarre. I don't think we've seen the end of bizarre....

Looks as if Democrats have Harris selecting Walz in order to hold on to the Muslim voters in Minnesota and Michigan in the November election. Biden never has gone this far in his rather ambivalent statements and actions regarding the Gaza/Israel conflict. The problem for Americans will be the lack of coverage in mainstream media of how unAmerican this position and these candidates, Harris/Walz, are because the truth is not what we get from MSM.
The Republican campaign must target local media across the country and use the new internet and direct media sources like podcasts to deliver truth. Informed Americans will reject these Communist policies and candidates.

I hope you're right, Bob. I'm worried about the truth being available, never mind believed.

Yes, it is very difficult to assess where young voters stand in terms of overall information needed to achieve the "right" result. We know that much of their educational process has been slanted to favor collectivism, that always results in authoritarian government, and discourage support for individual freedom, part of the American Ideal.
