Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
I didn't see a post on this, so I'll kick one off here.
If you don't know who Shiloh Hendrix is, Googling her name will give you more than you want. No need to rehearse the whole situation here.
I agree with the take others have made (e.g. Matt Walsh): Cancel culture will only stop when it works to the benefit of the canceled rather than their injury. Shiloh Hendrix said a bad word, and the cancel mob swung into action to destroy her life. Instead of groveling (which wouldn't work anyway), Hendrix defiantly started a crowdfunding campaign and, amazingly, has raised more than $600k since.
Good for her. Like Matt Walsh says, I hope she raises a million or more. Not because I approve of using the "N-word" or her as a person, but because cancel culture has gotten completely out of hand, especially with respect to certain magic words. No one should have their life destroyed because of some insult they tossed out. And the only way to stop it is to make it backfire.

Why is this a national story? Why is it even a local news story? The N-word is hyperbolically inflated into the most horrible thing on Earth. It is not. Many Black people use it all the time and it does not bother them. We need to start downplaying this nonsense about a word. America has one of the least racist cultures in the world.

Over $600K? Where do I find me a black child to insult?

First you've got to find one to steal stuff out of your diaper bag.

Saying “the n-world” just makes the mind automatically translate it instantly. Not sure if any feelings are really being spared.

Whatever happened to “I may disagree with what you say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it”?
The prick with the camera and buttinsky manner should be excoriated as a bad American. (If he IS an American.)
