What has become of my country?

This word keeps returning like the proverbial bad penny and not a day goes by in the last wretched, tawdry, corrupt, unprincipled three years that I don’t use that word when viewing the latest insult imposed on the American public by the gang of hoodlums now in what we laughably (if it weren’t so tragic) call our National “leadership.” I suspect you feel the same way but perhaps you describe the emotion with a different word; the fright and the concern and the danger we all feel, however, is the same.

That’s the way I started a draft a few days ago. I set it aside to see how the brewing imbroglio between the heroic State of Texas and the unspeakable forces of evil represented by the most corrupt “President” (I refuse to give him the full honorific I would give a truly great American President like Ronald Reagan without quotes, as he is clearly an imposter and a puppet) would play out. It is now the evening of Sunday, January 28, 2024 and the battle lines are still being drawn between the State of Texas and the Constitution of the United States on one side, and the Democrats marching in lockstep with the mainstream media, academia, entertainment, and the moron caucus composed of idiots marching around with signs reading “From the river to the sea” (but who cannot name the river or the sea), on the other.

There have been many articles released over the past few days analyzing the legalities and rights and wrongs and morals and immorals of each side. From that mass of learned commentary I have formed my own opinion: which is that the law, and, more importantly in my own estimation, the morals, are clearly on the side of the State of Texas. But my opinion is not the subject of this short post.

These thoughts are prompted by a letter signed by a group of retired FBI agents, expressing their belief that the actions of this insanely dangerous administration are bringing us closer to our own October 7. These men were highly placed in positions of authority, in fields which would give them the expertise that should command our attention, and, most critically, that of the damned fools in Washington who seem hellbent on getting some, if not many, of their fellow citizens slaughtered just as Israelis were on October 7.

Here is their letter. As the doctrine in the law suggests “Res Ipsa Loquitur”- the thing speaks for itself. It is my deep conviction, and fear, that no one is listening to voices like these, but those of us who are left with sentient, functioning minds have the responsibility as citizens to at least have some conception of what might be coming our way.

I have viewed the videos available thus far from the October 7 massacre. What I saw was the slaughter beginning in a very nice, quiet, peaceful little community, eerily like the one in which we are blessed to live. An elderly man, like me, was sitting in his chair, taking in the morning breeze and quiet with his cup of coffee and his book; like I like to do. He was machine gunned to death on the spot by animals—though we are told by our betters we should not call them animals. That scene has haunted me ever since I saw it. That scene is me. And you. And we have no idea when it may be coming, or where it will be coming. But read this letter carefully and you will share my fear that it is no longer a question of whether it will be coming, but where and when.

Our country is in grave danger, and the magnitude of what may be coming in the next few months is quite simply staggering.

God Help us.

The future is dark and frightening because some incompetent and misinformed people have decided to invite these monsters into our cities and town. If there are no incidents and lifes lost as a result, Jim, it will be a miracle. I will pray for one.

Susan, I have made the point before in a comment in another post that I not only believe in miracles, I have had them touch my life in some rather dramatic ways; the examples I used, to just cite a few, were the length of our marriage and the length of our lives. I have seen miracles all my life and this Nation exists because of what many historians consider to have been miracles in the course of the Revolutionary War, the recovery, albeit horribly painful and slow, after the Civil War, the miracle of Omaha Beach and Normandy and what followed in the 10 months after-- the list is long and, to me at least, provable. However, this letter really struck home with me in that it demonstrated how an army of Hamas-style monsters is very probably organizing right under the cognitively impaired senses of our "leadership" for reasons I do not think can be explained other than as a deliberate campaign to destroy as much of the Nation I love as possible in the time they have left. And my concern is heightened by the fact that they have one year and one week to wreak havoc -and death and destruction- on the country. I am also concerned -- deeply and gravely - that one who brings up these unpleasant topics is looked upon as some kind of social pariah as none of this is supposed to be talked about in "polite company" as it is so distateful to discuss the realistic prospect of one's own execution.

I join you in your prayer for a miracle -or many - as it and they more and more seem to be our only hope of getting to the other end of this nightmare of a year unscathed.

It would be nice if it can be done peacefully. But that seems very unlikely, so I end up hoping that the violence at least mostly occurs to the people who helped bring it about. And maybe they'll learn something as a result.

@JimGeorge I had a post in which I ask some questions, posed some possibles, and I had a comment that I will copy here:

    Who is Actually in Charge?

If I had to make a choice today I’d say the lawyers in and out of government are the most effective anti-American force at work today. Joe Biden is the foremost example with some solid runners-up on SCOTUS. Private sector names come and go but the same ones keep appearing in each scandal.

    Jim:

There are names associated with the term lawfare that have been repeatedly appearing in the fabricated legal actions over these years since Trump assumed the Presidency. I can only surmise that a group associated with this has managed to capture ever needed person in charge of any key function in the bureaucracy, then they are able to take these actions to judges who are part of that.

We need to push at every point possible the rest of this year. And support what Texans are doing.

To borrow a phrase, never attribute to incompetence that which can be explained by malice. These people hate our country and ourselves. The revolution first demands destruction so that society can be rebuilt in the Left's twisted image.
