From the Hill:

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has distributed more than 60 million meals over the last five weeks without interference or diversion. This has severely undercut Hamas’s revenue streams, because Hamas has for years stolen humanitarian aid and sold it at high prices, despite the daily struggle of the Palestinian people to meet their basic needs.

Why do the usual suspects want to shut down the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)? The short answer is that the GHF cooperates with Israel. The ugly answer is the hatred of Jews, and a Jewish State, means that the Gazans must starve to protect and shield the narrative from the ugly answer.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, of course, has a singular mission: to feed the people of Gaza, safely and directly. It operates with transparency, logistical expertise, a commitment to human dignity, and yes, coordination with the Israeli government. Without that coordination, its food would face the same looting and diversion that plagues other aid organizations who see Israel as an obstacle.

Working with the GHF to feed Gazans is a dangerous business, and the UN and some European governments are at best silent and at their worst are working to stop the GHF from feeding Gazans.

For this success, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has been rewarded with cheers from the Palestinian people in Gaza, as well as robust international condemnation from nearly everyone outside of the Trump administration, which has chipped in at least $30 million in support. Even worse, Hamas has now turned its violence against Palestinian civilians for working with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Recently, Hamas attacked a bus of Palestinian foundation volunteers. According to regional reports, a Hamas unit killed or detained dozens of aid workers. Its operatives have also attacked American aid workers with explosives packed with ball bearings then before retreated into crowds of aid seekers, all in the hope of drawing fire and creating an international incident.

The Gazans must starve so that Hamas supporters around the world can feast on their ant-Semitic hatred.

I've even heard that the IDF is being blamed for the attacks on the Palestinians...

This can't be true. I haven't read or heard a word about the GHF in the mainstream news organizations. I mean, REALLY, Hamas is doing harm to their own people! This is unimaginable. I better check with my main source on all things Israel, Carol Joy. Are you out there, Carol? Thanks Doug.

A friend asserted matter-of-factly last week that the IDF was wantonly shooting Gazans lined up for food aid. I couldn't believe that, in part because I had not read of it, and I'm sure if there were any evidence that were true, the anti-Israel "mainstream" press would have been all over it. And I had read also read countering stories of Hamas shooting Gazans at food aid distribution points to discourage Gazans from going to aid distribution as the presence of Gaza civilians interfered with the ability of Hamas to hijack the aid. But I didn't challenge my friend because I had no information.

After my friend made the assertion, I looked, and saw some reports with the allegation that the IDF was wantonly shooting Gazans at food aid distribution points. But the reports were all in sources with which I was unfamiliar (and thus of uncertain reliability), and none of those reports seemed to be built on a solid foundation of evidence. Most were based on unnamed sources.

I think a person can ask, what possible reason would IDF soldiers have to shoot Gazans?? But Hamas has plenty of reasons. Not only do they want to discourage the people from getting aid, but Hamas is unable to steal the aid the way it is structured. Since Israel has gone out of its way to avoid civilian casualties, it would make no sense.

An answer I would not be surprised to get is that Israel really is on a mission to exterminate Arabs in Palestine. To him the whole point of the Israeli offensive in Gaza is to kill the Arabs in the area. He doesn't even acknowledge that the events of October 7 even occurred, nor that Hamas might be conducting military activities from within or near or underneath civilian spaces. Another reason I don't tend to challenge my friend is he gets these types nutty ideas from the very one-sided media he consumes (he thinks NPR and PBS are fair and balanced) and latches on to those ideas. Once he's made up his mind, that's it. There is no reasoning with him.
