There are a lot of questions about Jeffrey Epstein, of course. But I keep coming back to one. I did some cursory research, and could not find an answer. Here is a very brief summary of what I found:
Epstein was born in NYC in 1953, and was raised in Brooklyn. His father was a groundskeeper for New York City Parks, and his mother was a school aide. Despite never graduating from college, Epstein somehow got a job teaching high school math. He was known for being excessively friendly with the high school girls, and soon lost his teaching job. He then got a job as a "low-level junior assistant to a floor trader" at Bear Stearns. Only four years later he was named limited partner. One year after that, they fired him. Holy Toledo.
Less than 10 years later, Epstein was buying multiple luxury properties for tens of millions of dollars. He started buying all sorts of incredibly expensive stuff all over the world, including multiple Caribbean islands. He was reported to be worth a billion dollars or more. And remember, he was teaching high school 15 years before this. By my (admittedly rough) reckoning, Epstein made several hundred million dollars in maybe 8-10 years.
And nobody knows how.
How do you earn a billion dollars without leaving a trail? At some point, you have to sell something to somebody. What did he sell? He must have sold a lot of it. He worked as a sort of money manager. OK. But financial securities are highly regulated. EVERYTHING is tracked.
You can't earn a billion dollars in a back alley when no one is looking.
I'm not suggesting that he earned all this money through sex trafficking or blackmail. I'm just saying that I don't understand how on earth he made that much money that fast without being on the books somewhere.
Incredible. He must be one smart dude.
Or he had some very smart, well-connected, wealthy friends. Lots of them. Ok, so how does one acquire so many friends like that, so quickly?
How did he do it?
A groundskeeper's son earns a billion dollars in 10 years, and nobody notices.

It is indeed beyond strange. Add to it the fact that former USAG Bill Barr's father was the headmaster who hired Epstein back then to teach math in that tony private NYC school. Then today the DOJ announces there is no Epstein client list, when just 3 or 4 months ago, AG Bondi supposedly had it on her desk, and later the DOJ was reviewing thousands of hours of video to protect the innocent. And now . . . Nada? Bupkis? One has to wonder how this all has come to pass.

That I knew about, but that's not the same as becoming a billionaire and buying a desirable island.

I don't see that much mystery. Michael Bloomberg also went from nowhere to being an anonymous Wall Street trader to billionaire in fifteen years. This country seems blessed with all kinds of ways to make a billion (all of which I've missed out on.) Epstein made partner at Bear Stearns, which is not easy to do. After he left he was a private money manager who handled the funds for billionaire Leslie Wexner. There are gaps in the story, but then again I don't know if there are gaps in the stories of other Wall Street bigs.
What distinguishes Epstein from most run of the mill rich guys seems to be a salesman's or a con man's instincts, combined with flattery and a strong interest in girls. Notice I didn't write "women".
