Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
So, let’s assume you are a principled person on the Left. Let’s assume you strongly believe America is best when America leads the Free World through skillful diplomacy, not crude, cruel, military force. You recognize the IRGC is a malignant force in the world, but evil shall not be resisted by evil. If diplomacy fails, the successful path is to unite the Free World and impose appropriate diplomatic and economic sanctions.
Because you are a principled, caring person, you care a great deal about the people of Iran. The loss of a single innocent life from American military action is an unacceptable outrage. Each bomb dropped, no matter how precise, no matter how much warning is given to civilians, is a war crime.
American presidential rhetoric threatening the destruction of Iranian civilization gave you the vapors. Clearly, the 25th Amendment should be invoked. The president was self-evidently insane. Such destruction must be stopped by any means.
Then, at the eleventh hour, there is a diplomatic breakthrough. All bombing is paused for two weeks in order to give diplomacy time to succeed.
Oh, happy days! Right? Time for reflection and prayer. Right? Time to applaud serious, somber diplomats everywhere. Right?
No. This is the time to act like a fourth grader. This is the time to mock and taunt the president for being a chicken. This is the time to embrace a schoolyard insult in the quest to humiliate the president.
The book on TDS will likely never be written, but this deserves a chapter. No one should ever predict that a “bottom” has been reached, but it is hard to imagine going lower than T.A.C.O. Tuesday.

PS: Perhaps we will hit bottom when someone asks — “At long last, sir, have you no sense of decency?"

The war has been beautifully won four weeks ago and Iran surrendered. There is nothing to complain about.

Don't waste your time arguing with Never-Trumpers. They've been declaring defeat since the first bomb fell and are unencumbered by facts and logic.
All they do is spout outrageous statements, then insist the burden is on you to prove them wrong. At best they are trolls who get their kicks tweaking your nose. Worst case they are part of a psyop.
Do not engage with them. Ignore them.

I agree. Ignore those guys. You should only spend your time with MAGA people. They know the war has already been won, beautifully, and they are rock-solid on facts and logic.
They never make outrageous statements, only sober analysis, like when they detailed how Iran bombed its own girl's school using U.S.-made Tomahawk Missiles. Or when they announced that Iran had surrendered to the Gulf Nations and promised to stop shooting at them.

I don't much like defending the left but there is more than one the left. More than two even. So it is possible for two different noise generating factions claim either that Trump is a madman, a madman for attacking Iran or lament the TACOing of Iran.
Possible, but rare. Too many people are so anti-Trump, so full of hatred, that they cannot see anything he does as good policy - indeed, it is monstrous (whatever it happens to be) and calls out for the 25th Amendment. Enforcing immigration law? Monstrous. Demanding our allies pony up the money they promised? Unthinkable.
This is not to say that there are never legitimate criticisms of Trump, but a lot of them are...let's just say 'unfounded'. So many things he does have been done before with little to no complaint.

Grandpa,
You joined Ricochet over a year ago and your bio has zero info about you. You seem to have some good ideas here as a fairly new member. Can you tell us a little about yourself? Are you a Grandpa? Do you like cats? Where are you from? Have you always leaned Right? You are posting almost daily, so I am curious about you.
