I keep reading about some "Boycott The Economy" thing for February 28. The idea is to not spend any money this day in order to protest Pres. Trump's actions to eliminate DEI initiatives from the government. Many companies are doing away with their DEI elements also because of his influence, and "people" want to complain. The idea is for no one to go shopping that day and have a serious impact on the economy of the big box stores and online sales so that these entities will know that "The People" support DEI and not DJT.
To me, this movement away from DEI is more like people finally shaking their heads and giving themselves a little smack on the cheeks to clear their brains. It's like we've been under a spell, and Trump's latest election is the release from this.
When I see these announcements about the February 28th Economic Blackout, it actually makes me want to save up my shopping just for that day so I can oppose the opposers. What have you heard or read about this? What do you think?

The date was listed incorrectly. The day of the boycott is actually Feb 29, 2025.

A Facebook friend posted something about this a week or so ago. I scanned it and remembered a similar “Buy Nothing Day” when GWB was inaugurated the second time. It was dumb then and dumb now.
I muted that FB friend for a month. I’ve been doing that a lot lately.

Actually, Friday is my day for grocery shopping. Now I'll be sure not to miss it!
