Why Spencer Pratt Wins

Why Pratt wins is NOT because of the ads.

Heavily Democratic Los Angeles is about to turn out the incumbent Democrat mayor. The winner will be a non-politician whose only qualification is that he is really mad that his house burned down.

The key here is that voters (at the moment) don’t view Spencer Pratt as a Republican. If they do, he loses. California and Los Angeles don't only have TDS, they have RDS (Republican Derangement Syndrome).

There is absolutely no good reason to view Spencer Pratt as qualified to be a successful mayor. If elected, at best, he has a 10% chance of being successful. But, this is why he will win. Most Angelenos know that there is a zero percent chance that re-electing Mayor Bass will make anything better.

By design, the only thing Democrats are good at is demonizing Republicans. In California and Los Angeles, they have succeeded brilliantly. They have been so successful that no professional Republican politician has bothered to run in 2026 for governor or mayor of Los Angeles. Generic Republican doesn’t stand a chance.

Angry guy with no relevant experience, on the other hand, stands a chance. Angry guy gets to say “I can’t do worse than the incumbent,” and that message resonates. Anyone with eyes can see Los Angeles and California drifting downward year after year, decade after decade. Anyone with ears can realize that Democrats have no answers. They have no solutions. They have no ideas.

Spencer Pratt is the embodiment of “none of the above,” and in 2026 Los Angeles, that is a winner.

It worked for Trump WRT his own party.

Pratt has a better chance at doing well because he can make decisions on what is best for LA without regards to having to be paying back the Democrats favors machine. If he doesn’t see himself using the position as leverage for the next rung up on the political positions ladder he will be even more likely to be successful.

I not only "Liked" the post, I like the post! But...and with the greatest regrets...I don't agree with it, at least in part. I live here.

Spencer has a shot at a "moonshot" 1993 Giuliani/2003 Schwarzenegger win. But let's be real about this too: there are actual reasons why people don't trust the Republicans either. It's not all TDS. Therefore, I suggest we not get drunk on moonshot moonshine.

Fact is, Pratt's insurgent campaign could make history and drive a golden stake into the heart of "the inevitable arc of history" if he outran GOP polling boundaries and got, say, 42% of the popular vote. He'd still lose. The horrified shock running through the local Democratic establishment would be profound.

I hope Pratt wins, but I fear the power of stupidity.
