Less than a week ago, I posted something suggesting that T.A.C.O. Tuesday might be a “bottom” in the long descent that is TDS. It was a rhetorical suggestion because I would never bet that any particular outrage could not be topped.
But, four days?!? Really? Behold, I present the Right Honorable Thomas Friedman of the Most Prestigious New York Times:
"I find myself, Michael, in a situation where I really want to see Iran defeated militarily," Friedman told CNN host Michael Smerconish on Saturday. "Because this regime is a terrible regime for its people in the region."
"And nothing would improve the region more than the replacement of this regime with a regime in Iran that was focused on enabling its people to realize their full potential and integrating peacefully with other countries and stop occupying Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen. So, I'm all for that," Friedman continued.
“The problem is I really don‘t want to see Bibi Netanyahu or Donald Trump politically strengthened by this war, because they are two awful human beings," the Times columnist said. "They are both engaged in anti-democratic projects in their own countries. They‘re both alleged crooks. They are terrible, terrible people doing terrible things to America's standing in the world and Israel's standing in the world."
"And so I really find myself torn. I want to see Iran militarily defeated, but I do not want to see these two terrible people strengthened," he added.
I propose we all wait 72 hours to see if the New York Times announces Mr. Friedman’s retirement due to his recent diagnosis of dementia. Absent that, I must rhetorically suggest that a new, new bottom has been reached. According to the New York Times star foreign affairs columnist, it is better that a religious death cult that routinely murders its citizens by the tens of thousands — a death cult firmly committed to starting Armageddon by the murder of millions of Jews — it is better that the death cult NOT be defeated militarily than for Trump to be strengthened politically. Donald Trump, a person who will never run for office again.
Can it get worse? Stay tuned.

So far, that's as low as one can go, accusative descriptions with no facts. Friedman needs to join Robert DeNiro.

What’s substantially different from these quotes:
"I've been sent a portion of a text that a newspaper has directed to me... they want 400 words on my hope for the Obama presidency. I don't need 400 words. I need four: I hope he fails.” - Rush Limbaugh Jan. 16, 2009
"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president." - Mitch McConnell in National Journal, 2010
Hoping for political failure is neither new or “TDS.”

So Friedman submitted this essay to a New York Times editor. And the editor approved it. Made sense to him.
It appears that leftists care about Iranians as much as they care about Venezuelans and Cubans. And blacks, and Europeans being over-run by Muslims, and sexually confused adolescents, and unborn babies, and female athletes, and poor people who need cheap dependable electricity, and on and on.
It's just astonishing how heartless the left is. Absolutely heartless.
And they consider themselves to be the compassionate ones.
It's psychotic.

Does Friedman mean he would rather see a nuclear weapon used on a western nation than for Trump to succeed in this effort to deny that possibility?
