BREAKING: Collin Rugg has tweeted audio, first released by Daily Mail, of Arizona Republican Party chair Jeff DeWit caught on a secret recording trying to bribe Kari Lake not to run for the Senate.

There are very powerful people who want to keep you out," he said. At one point during the secret recording, Lake was asked to name her "number." DeWit: "Just say, is there a number at which..." Lake: "I can be bought? That's what it's about." DeWit: "You can take a pause for a couple of years. You can go right back to what you're doing." Lake: "This is not about money, it's about our country."

    So this is really, well, as she says, it is disturbing. The GOP in AZ is offering to pay her money to not run for Senator. Apparently, "Very Powerful people" are willing to keep her out and "Put their money where their mouth is in a very big way".

    I have to assume this is run of the mill just does not normally come out.

    This, people, this is the actions of Never Trump. This is the face of the GOPe. This is the face of the people who hate Trump. This man sounds so, so, slimey.

    I love this line "It's not about control, it's about being on the team".

    It is so funny how we have people in AZ complaining about Democracy being trampled, and here you have people "Back East" trying to spend money to control who the People get to vote for in AZ.

    Egad! In the bigger picture, this could well be a bigger story than what's going on in NH tonight. A lot bigger. DeWitt is toast. At least he'd better be. The entire Arizona Republican establishment should be scampering for their holes.

    The recording itself is intriguing, disregarding the people or the topics. Lake played it perfectly. She is a v-e-r-y skilled journalist, and knew exactly how to get as much out of him as possible.

    And sounds like a slimy reptile. A used car salesman. He has no interest in anything but making deals and being in power. Maybe that is what a party chair should be, but yuck. It is like Gary Cole's character in Office Space.
